She Left, She Thrived, She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 32

Dominic’s fist slammed onto the desk with a loud thud.

Evelyn studied Dominic’s face.

“Dominic, you’re so angry… Could it be that you’re jealous?”

“How could I be…”

Dominic denied it immediately.

“I don’t even like Melanie.”

Seeing that he didn’t seem to be lying, Evelyn felt relieved.

“But no matter what, she’s still your wife in public. Now the entire company knows she’s seducing the CEO of the Halevy Group. Are you just going to let it slide?”

“No…”

Dominic shook his head.

“Melanie was probably just having a meal with Mr. Halevy, trying to get on his good side.”

“She’s cheating on you so blatantly, and you’re still defending her?”

Seeing Evelyn’s anger, Dominic quickly tried to soothe her.

“I’m not defending her. It’s just that Melanie is a Royce, after all. She wouldn’t stoop to sleeping with someone just for a project.”

“But she didn’t come home last night, did she? She’s always had a wild side. Maybe she just wanted a change of pace!”

Dominic opened his mouth, wanting to argue back.

But he didn’t want to make Evelyn unhappy.

It was true that Melanie had a wild streak. There was a time when she spent all her days hanging out at Daphne’s nightclub.

But Dominic didn’t think Melanie would be interested in Spencer, much less humiliate herself by sleeping with him for a project.

The thought that Melanie hadn't come home again last night made Dominic increasingly anxious.

He picked up his phone and, after a long hesitation, dialed Daphne’s number.

When Daphne saw Dominic’s name on the caller ID, she initially didn’t want to answer.

Melanie was her only best friend. She had thought Melanie would be happy marrying the man she was arranged to marry since childhood, but it turned out she had walked into a disaster.

If it were up to her, she would have already rounded up a group of people to give Dominic a thorough beating.

But Melanie had her own plans, and Daphne couldn’t afford to mess them up. So, she reluctantly answered the phone.

“Hello?”

“Daphne, it’s me, Dominic.”

“Oh. What is it?”
