She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 356

Melanie let out a sharp, incredulous laugh. She had never known that a person could be so utterly stunned by another's audacity.

“So… you want me to sacrifice my entire life's happiness to repay Gregory for saving your life? Dad, what do you think I am? A tool for settling your debts?”

Nathaniel was both angry and anxious at Melanie’s sharp question.

“Why are you so stubborn? What good will divorcing Dominic do you? Don’t think I don’t know what you’re scheming!”

That remark made Melanie raise an eyebrow.

What was she scheming?

She didn’t even know, but apparently, her father did.

Seeing Melanie’s silence, Nathaniel took it as a tacit admission.

“You… you just have your eye on that Preston guy, which is why you’re so determined to divorce Dominic. But you don’t want the public to blame you, so you blew the whole thing up to put Dominic in the hot seat. That way, everyone’s attention is focused on Dominic’s affair, and they won’t notice that you’ve been cheating for a while now, too!”

As Nathaniel pointed his finger at her, A cold dread settled heavy in Melanie’s chest.

This was her father.

Her own flesh and blood.

And yet…

In her own father’s eyes, a man having an affair and even a child out of wedlock was no big deal. As long as he was willing to change his ways, the wife should forgive him unconditionally.

For her not to forgive was to be unreasonable.

He had even started imagining that she was using this as a ploy to cover up her own affair.

Melanie was at a loss for words.

What else could she say?

Faced with this version of Nathaniel, anything she said or did would be her fault.

Dominic was the innocent one.

“This divorce is happening!”

Forcing the words out through clenched teeth, Melanie turned to leave.

Nathaniel’s roar echoed from behind her.
