She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 451

Did his brother really just talk their parents down in a few sentences?

If he had known it would be this easy, he wouldn't have spent all that time worrying!

Just as the thought crossed his mind, the office door flew open with tremendous force.

"Who's bullying my grandson's fiancée?!!"

Tessa Rowland's furious demand echoed through the entire office.

Frederick Whitmore and Marjorie jumped in shock.

They never expected Tessa to show up here.

She was dressed differently today. Despite her age, the older woman wore a sharp haute couture suit that radiated an intimidating aura.

Her longtime butler and three burly bodyguards flanked her.

Anyone who knew her understood that Stellaris PharmaTech was the Whitmore family's own empire.

But to a stranger, she looked like a mob boss arriving to trash the place!

Seeing that Tessa had finally arrived, Gabriel let out a sigh of relief. He shot Preston a smug look, wiggling his eyebrows as if claiming credit.

Preston met his brother's gaze with perfect calm, as if he had anticipated Gabriel calling in their grandmother for backup all along.

With Tessa in the room, Frederick and Marjorie were instantly demoted to subordinates, entirely stripped of their parental authority.

"Mom, what are you doing here?"

Frederick and Marjorie hurried over to her side, fawning over her with eager, deferential smiles.

Tessa, however, didn't spare them a single ounce of warmth.

"What am I doing here? If I didn't come, you two would have driven my precious grandson to an early grave!"

Tessa was absolutely livid.

It wasn't an act. She was genuinely furious.

Frederick and Marjorie exchanged a helpless look, swallowing their bitter frustration.

Whether inside the Whitmore family or out in the world, no one had ever successfully pressured Preston into doing anything.

"Exactly, Grandma..."

Gabriel instantly hopped over, standing beside Tessa and gently massaging her shoulders.

"Thank God you're here to lay down the law. Otherwise... Mom and Dad were going to force my brother to be a bachelor for the rest of his life. How tragic is that!"

Hearing his youngest son fan the flames, Frederick saw red. He raised a hand, ready to smack Gabriel.

"What do you think you're doing? Have you lost your mind? Bullying one of my grandsons wasn't enough, so now you want to go after the other?!"

Gabriel nearly choked on his own spit at the declaration.

So... his grandmother was just shallow when it came to pretty faces!

Beside him, Preston let out a low, amused chuckle.

Melanie had more incredible qualities than he could count, but her stunning beauty was certainly the most obvious one.

Frederick felt a heavy throb of disbelief hit him, almost making him dizzy.

What kind of answer was that?

But deep down, he knew a pretty face wasn't nearly enough to win over his mother.

Preston's earlier words involuntarily echoed in his mind:

"So, you've jumped to conclusions about someone you've never even met, deciding she's a gold digger, a jinx, not good enough, and unworthy of joining the Whitmore family..."

They had definitely been too arbitrary.

Frederick gently patted Marjorie's shoulder.

As Preston's parents, their overwhelming concern had clouded their judgment.

Just as the tension defused on Preston's end, over at the Royce Group, Aria was sobbing hysterically in the conference room.
