When Melanie realized she couldn't fix this mess, she would naturally be at her most vulnerable.
Like right now, at this very moment.
A smart person knew when to yield, and Dominic firmly believed that no woman could resist his onslaught of sports cars and diamonds when she was desperate.
Melanie looked at the beaming, self-satisfied Dominic and let out a scoff.
"I can't believe you actually have the nerve to say that."
"Excuse me?"
Dominic's expression shifted.
"For years, the Hale Group survived solely because my father was too nostalgic to cut you off. He handed your family countless favors. When your own company went bankrupt and you ended up with a criminal record, my father was the only one who took you in and made you a project director. And how did you repay him?"
"You betrayed us. You colluded with Aria and Sabrina, stole our Genesis Serum, poached our clients, and hijacked our market share just to replace us. Dominic, you are a treacherous, backstabbing bastard, and you still have the audacity to beg me to get in your car?"
Bombarded by Melanie's blistering accusations, Dominic's face twisted in rage.
"You have the nerve to bring up the past!"
Dominic finally snapped.
"Just because you controlled the supply chain, you kept us beneath your boot. To the outside world, it looked like the Hales couldn't survive without the Royces. Did you ever once consider our pride?"
Listening to Dominic's twisted logic, Melanie didn't get angry; instead, she started clapping.
"What an ungrateful, selfish, traitorous piece of trash! That inner monologue almost brought a tear to my eye."
"You bitch!"
Mocked so relentlessly, the muscles in Dominic's face twitched.
"I don't care what you want. Tonight, you belong to me!"
With that, Dominic lunged at her, intending to force himself on her right then and there.
