She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 73

Lila sat beside them, sweetly eating her ice cream.

She didn't fully understand everything, but she could see that her mommy and daddy were getting along again.

It was true…

As long as her aunt wasn't around, her mommy and daddy were happy together.

Lila couldn't help but think that it would be great if her aunt would just disappear.

After dinner, Dominic had all but decided that the company’s new serum should go to Veloria Beauty, not Luminaria Aesthetic Institute.

With the decision made, his mood lightened.

“Evelyn, your birthday is next month, isn’t it? How about I give you your present early? Right now, what do you think?”

Evelyn’s face lit up with joy.

This was her Dominic—the one who would whisper sweet nothings and spontaneously offer to buy her anything she wanted.

“Okay! Then you can get me a new necklace!”

At the mention of a necklace, Dominic froze.

He just remembered that he had been buying a necklace for Melanie that afternoon.

He’d been called away by the kindergarten before he could pay.

He pulled out his phone and checked. There were no messages from Melanie.

He hadn't been lying when he told her he would reimburse her.

But Melanie still hadn't sent him a message asking for the money…

Did she forget?

Dominic put his phone away.

If Melanie forgot, that was fine by him…

It would save him a huge sum of money.

Evelyn was sitting on the sofa, legs crossed, flipping through a high-end jewelry brochure.

“You bought both necklaces?”

Seeing the shock in Dominic’s eyes, Evelyn instantly realized he was the one who had paid for them.

“Dominic, you spoil Melanie too much. One wasn’t enough, you had to buy two? If Mom found out, she’d be devastated to see the son she raised turning into a pushover who just throws money away to please his wife.”

Evelyn’s verbal assault drew a cold laugh from Melanie.

“Evelyn, you really know how to exaggerate. All I did was buy two necklaces, but the way you talk, it’s like I incited Dominic to commit a crime.”

“Melanie!” Dominic roared before she could finish.

“Just because you brought in some business for the company doesn't mean you can let it go to your head! When did I ever give you permission to buy two necklaces?”

The two necklaces cost three million dollars. As a daughter of the Royce family, Melanie could afford it with her own money.

But Dominic couldn't afford to reimburse her.

Seeing Dominic scold Melanie in front of the sales associate, Evelyn crossed her arms and smirked.

“What’s this? So you were the one who decided to buy two on your own! You really went to great lengths to force Dominic to spend money on you.”
