She Left, She Thrived, She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 78

Melanie froze, almost thinking she'd misheard.

Just as she was about to ask him to clarify, Dominic hung up.

Melanie quickly left the gym. If she hurried, she might just make it to the Eclipse Noir Club in time.

Melanie couldn't let Dominic find out she had lied.

Daphne's club had always been her cover. In the past, whenever she snuck out to work in her lab, she would pretend she was going to the Eclipse Noir Club.

If Dominic discovered she wasn't there, it might arouse unnecessary suspicion and create problems.

That, in turn, could jeopardize her divorce plans.

However, the more she rushed, the more fate seemed to work against her.

Her car broke down.

Thump, thump!

Just as she was panicking, someone knocked on her car window.

Melanie opened the door and saw Preston standing outside.

"Need a hand?"

"Yes," Melanie replied without a second thought.

And just like that, she had Preston drive her to the Eclipse Noir Club.

Along the way, Preston focused on driving, and Melanie didn't try to make small talk.

The car was quiet.

But the atmosphere between them wasn't awkward.

As the car came to a stop, Melanie was about to thank him.

But Preston, who had been silent the whole ride, suddenly spoke.

"So the 'clubbing' you mentioned before… this is the place?"

As he asked, his gaze fell on the flashing sign of the Eclipse Noir Club.

"Yes."

After answering, Melanie got out of the car, only to see Preston getting out as well.

"I'll go in with you."

Melanie was speechless.

"This is a host club... we only have male hosts here for female clients. We don’t have any hostesses."

"Doesn't matter. I'm not looking for one," Preston said nonchalantly.
