"Mom, Quinn is a wicked woman to begin with, so what kind of people do you think her friends are? They're all birds of a feather!"
"Miles, you have to teach her a lesson this time. You cannot let her get away with this."
Miles leveled an icy glare at the maid named Lily. "Are you absolutely certain you saw Yara dropping something there?"
Lily nodded, then shook her head, her voice trembling. "Sir, I... I saw the young madam's friend... helping little Luna slide down. Something powdery fell out of her pocket. Right after they left, young Master Leo went to play on it, and not long after, the rash appeared."
Wiping her tears, Jade secretly let a tiny, triumphant smirk slip.
The heavens were truly on her side. She hadn't expected Yara to actually drop something on the slide.
Outwardly, however, she wailed with devastated heartbreak. "How could Quinn's friend be so evil? To do something like this to a three-year-old child... she's a mother herself!"
"Leo... it's all Mommy's fault. I'm useless. I couldn't protect you."
Macy's voice turned sharp and vindictive. "Call the police! We have to get that awful woman locked up!"
Hearing Macy mention the police, Jade panicked slightly, worried they might actually uncover the truth.
She quickly assumed the role of a forgiving, benevolent saint. "Macy, I just want Leo to be safe right now. Let's forget about calling the cops. I don't want to make things difficult for Miles."
"Jade, how can you be so kind? That vile woman poisoned Leo!"
Playing the part of the long-suffering victim, Jade pulled open the car door. "Leo, Mommy is right here. Don't be scared. Everything will be fine once we get to the hospital."
Seeing her son in so much pain did genuinely sting. She knew how terrible he felt.
But to force Miles to care about Leo, this was the only way.
Just bear with it a little longer, Leo. This is the only way to make him pity you.
It will also drive a wedge between him and that terrible woman. The pain you're enduring right now will all be worth it.
"Mom, Macy, I'm taking Leo to the hospital first. Whatever needs to be done can wait until I get back."
Miles's words carried a strict warning—he was explicitly forbidding them from calling the cops until he returned.
"But no more than that, okay?"
"Yay! Caleb, we get to drink sweet soda today!"
A warm, gentle smile touched Ethan's lips. It was as if this lighthearted, domestic joy was quietly soothing his lonely heart.
Luna tilted her little head up, her big, watery eyes blinking rapidly. "Daddy is the hero today. If Daddy hadn't come back, Caleb and I wouldn't be getting any cola."
Ethan tapped her little nose playfully. "You're such a sweet talker. But you have to listen to Mommy from now on, alright? Only one cup."
"I will, Daddy!"
Suddenly, a knock on the door shattered the perfect atmosphere.
Stacy opened the door and froze at the sight of two police officers in uniform. Confused, she asked,
"Can I... help you?"

Why only one episode uploading for the last 2 days?...
I would have accepted the jerk husband ending up with the heroine if he’s only powerful, intelligent but he’s so powerless and so stupid....
Can you make Ethan be the endgame? That Miles is a total jerk....
