She Walked Away With His Twins While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 344

The temperature around Miles plummeted, his lips pressing into a sharp, unforgiving line.

"Quinn, I already told you. Yara's job has nothing to do with me. If I, Miles York, did something, I wouldn't deny it, nor would I need to."

Arrogant and dismissive, he couldn't even be bothered to defend himself against her unreasonable accusations.

He pulled out his phone and dialed Hunter. "Look into who is making things difficult for Yara Chase behind the scenes."

Jade plastered a fake, apologetic smile on her face, speaking in a soft, innocent tone. "Quinn, you've lived under the same roof as Miles for four years. How can you not trust his word? If he says he didn't do it, he didn't do it."

She paused, smoothly shifting her tone to one of subtle mockery. "Who knows, maybe your best friend just has a terrible personality and a lack of filter. She probably offended someone at work she shouldn't have."

Quinn clenched her fists, her chest already bursting with suppressed fury.

Hearing Jade's manipulative, passive-aggressive remarks sent her anger surging to a boiling point. She glared at Jade, her eyes practically shooting daggers.

She snapped fiercely, "Jade, you are a thief. What right do you have to stand there and judge my friend?"

Jade's face stiffened. Instantly, tears welled up in her eyes, and her voice became trembling and pitiful.

"Quinn, I didn't steal the manuscript from your flash drive. I already explained to Miles—I just mixed up the two files and accidentally sent the wrong one to Director Lin for submission. Didn't Miles tell you? I'm also more than willing to apologize to you."

Quinn took a half-step forward, her gaze pinning Jade sharply in place.

Watching Jade play the innocent, pathetic victim made Quinn want to rip that hypocritical mask right off her face.

"Jade, do you really think everyone is as blind to the truth as Miles, willing to swallow your fabricated garbage?"

"Quinn, whether you believe it or not, I didn't intentionally steal your manuscript. It was an accidental mix-up."

Jade would never, under any circumstances, admit she did it on purpose. As she said this, a faint, provocative smirk tugged at the corner of her eye.
