"Miles, I'd really love to enter Leo into the National Junior Prodigy Challenge. What do you think?"
Miles looked over at Leo, who was quietly eating, and suddenly thought of the brilliant little boy he'd seen in the robotics hall.
A flicker of anticipation sparked in his chest. Would that kid show up?
Originally, the competition was set for kids aged five to ten.
But after witnessing that boy's jaw-dropping intellect, he had inexplicably ordered the minimum age limit to be lowered by two years.
He just hadn't expected Leo to want to join as well.

As she spoke, her eyes brimmed with tears. "Leo... almost died when he was born, but he survived. He's incredibly smart, way ahead of other kids his age. I want him to compete so he can experience the world."
Seeing her acting so delicate and wronged softened Miles's heart. He replied gently, "Then have his tutor focus on preparing him for a while. If he shows progress, I don't see why he shouldn't participate. I'm just worried he might get upset if he doesn't place."
Thrilled that he agreed, Jade flashed a blindingly sweet smile. "I'll make sure to talk to him beforehand, Miles. He won't get upset if he doesn't win. Besides, Leo is brilliant; he's always been the brightest among kids his age. I'm completely confident he'll get a great ranking."
As long as her Leo entered, crushing the other toddlers would be a walk in the park.
She had already thoroughly analyzed the rules of the National Junior Prodigy Challenge. Three-year-olds competed against kids up to five, six-year-olds against kids up to eight, and so on.
Once he advanced, he could challenge the older brackets. As long as he managed to beat a few seven- or eight-year-olds, he would capture everyone's attention.
