She Walked Away With His Twins, While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 8

Susan panicked; she hadn't actually intended to stab her with the scissors.

A sharp pain radiated from Quinn's palm, but it was nothing compared to the agony of having her dignity brutally trampled into the dirt.

For four years, she had endured everything, constantly stepping back and swallowing her pride!

Now, she was so pathetic she didn't even have the right to protect her own luggage.

"What is going on here?"

A cold, authoritative voice suddenly echoed through the room. Susan flinched violently, dropping the scissors and scrambling to hide behind Macy.

The front door was wide open. Miles stepped inside, an aura of icy dominance surrounding him.

His eyes instantly swept over the chaotic mess of ruined books, finally landing on Quinn. She looked devastatingly pale and fragile, blood dripping steadily from her hand.

His handsome brow furrowed in a dark scowl. "Macy, what exactly is happening here?"

Macy panicked for a second, but quickly covered it up with her usual arrogant entitlement. "Miles, thank god you're back! This woman was trying to sneak boxes out of the house. I suspected she was stealing from the Yorks again, so I had Susan..."

"Macy, you're an adult. How can you justify tearing through someone else's personal belongings?"

Macy was entirely unapologetic, her tone bratty and defensive. "Miles, it wasn't on purpose! Besides, she literally stole from us before to subsidize her brother. Me suspecting her is completely justified!"

Miles rubbed his temples in irritation. Jack wasn't here today, and the house had already descended into absolute chaos. He signaled for his assistant to call Dr. Wells.

"What are you all standing around for? Clean this up immediately."

He ordered a few maids to repack Quinn's belongings and carry them back inside.

Enduring the agonizing throb in her hand, Quinn clutched her ruined items and said coldly, "Don't bother, Miles. I'm moving out today."

When she had accepted expired trash from the house, he had mocked and threatened her.

Now, Macy had maliciously destroyed her property and ordered a maid to ransack her things, and he hadn't even offered a word of real reprimand.

Her chest swelled with bitter resentment. She had zero interest in his fake charity.
