Late at night.
Luther returned to the Century Villa.
Seeing him back, the maid rushed forward attentively and asked, "Sir, would you like to have dinner now?"
Luther had no appetite. He raised a hand to signal no. As the maid watched his retreating figure, she couldn't help but feel that he was heavily burdened... Was it because of his ex-wife? But if he loved her, why would he divorce her so easily and accept Ms. Lovell?
The grand hall was brightly lit.
It was illuminated by the most expensive crystal chandelier, worth a fortune.
He gripped the handrail and walked upstairs.
No amount of expensive lighting could warm him.
He went straight to the second floor and pushed open the master bedroom door. Shopping bags were scattered around the sitting room in twos and threes, a mocking sight to his eyes.
She was already buying clothes for Harrell.
They were living together like husband and wife.
Luther sat on the couch and opened the bags one by one, staring at the clothes. He wanted to throw them away, but in the end, he kept them, tossing them in a pile in the corner of his walk-in closet. He had never worn them once.
*Let it be.*
It was over.
He really needed to focus his heart on Jolie.
Right then, Jolie called, bringing good news. "Luther, just as I expected, Naomi has a businesswoman's mindset. She hasn't abandoned her cooperation with us because of Hilda. In fact, she's having her assistant push hard for it. Tomorrow, Naomi's chief assistant is coming to Aegis Group for an inspection. I'll host her personally. Don't worry, I promise to get this done and secure the partnership with Mokshalia."
Luther was quite surprised.
Naomi and Hilda had seemed so close.
He hadn't expected this outcome.
It seemed he had overthought things in the past.
…
At a six-star hotel in Alpha City.
A tall figure stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows of a suite.
It was Naomi.
After finishing the sweet conversation, Naomi hung up and immediately reverted back to her cold, elite persona.
…
The next day.
Naomi saw Hilda, Annie, and Gardenia off to Havenworth City.
Her chief assistant went to Aegis Group for the inspection.
The talks went exceptionally well.
They went over every single detail.
A week later, Jolie represented the company and signed a non-binding letter of intent with the French company Mokshalia. Both parties intended to co-develop new skincare and fragrance products, aiming to break into the Asian market.
On the day the contract was signed.
Aegis Group's marketing department and Mokshalia hosted a small celebratory reception at seven o'clock that evening in a VIP room at the Regency Club. The attendees were all key members of the project, completely following Jolie's lead. After this, everyone at Aegis Group understood that the era of the former Mrs. Sanford was over; it was now Jolie's time.
At Aegis Group, who would dare cross her?
