Luther was in a foul mood for days.
Yorick Lynn invited him out for drinks to blow off some steam.
At the Regency Club, whatever type of companion you wanted, they could usually find.
Tonight, the girl sitting next to Luther was the picture of innocence.
—An art school graduate.
She had majored in fine arts.
Yorick puffed on his cigar, casually dropping a dirty joke. "Art students are great, Luther. They really know how to use their strokes, don't they? Maybe you should experience her strokes for yourself."
The lighting was dim.
Luther leaned against the plush sofa, exuding effortless elegance.
A crisp white cigarette rested between his fingers.
Every movement he made radiated the magnetic allure of a mature, powerful man.
The girl's name was Summer Shaw.
A very poetic name.
She came from a small town. Her parents were ordinary clerks who had struggled to put her through school, and she had a younger brother to support.
Yorick had paid two grand just to have her sit next to Luther.
It was all a test to see if Luther would take the bait.
Through a thin veil of smoke, Luther studied her features. The striking similarities, the same aloof aura—it definitely threw him off balance for a moment. She was easily a sixty percent match for Hilda, though she lacked Hilda's refinement, and her presence was just a touch inferior.
But Luther didn't voice any complaints.
Which essentially meant she passed the test.
Yorick was absolutely thrilled. Between drinks, he shot the girl a knowing look. "Have Mr. Sanford drive you back to your dorm later."
Summer bit her lip and gave a soft "Mhm."
The seven or eight people in the private room thought nothing of it.
Everyone knew Luther had been going through a rough patch, that he was lonely, and that he desperately needed someone in his bed.
—Summer had hit the jackpot.
Luther had a few light drinks before excusing himself.
Naturally, the girl named Summer left with him.
A few minutes later, the young woman was sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with Luther in the backseat of his car.
She had never been in a car this luxurious before.
She'd heard it was worth over ten million.
She sat rigidly, her hands placed awkwardly flat on her knees, her entire body wound tight. She didn't even dare to steal a glance at Luther.
Luther slouched casually against the seat.
The back of his hand casually brushed against the soft curve of the girl's thigh.
