Mr. Varga's face flushed a deep, embarrassed crimson.

Hell, he wasn't into men!

And how on earth did that Croix kid get involved with Mr. Sanford?

His future brother-in-law?

Luther took a step back, his expression icy and unyielding. "Once Damien has recovered in a few days, you will treat him to dinner. Mrs. Varga doesn't need to attend. I wouldn't want her old feelings rekindling at the sight of him. After all, my future brother-in-law is a very handsome man. For the sake of your marital bliss, it's best they keep their distance. I can also assure you that as long as your wife doesn't initiate anything, Damien won't go out of his way to seduce her again."

Mr. Varga's face turned from red to stark white.

The humiliation was piling up, thick and heavy.

But Luther was blatantly protecting that hustler.

Luther didn't care what Varga thought. This was just how the business world worked; for the sake of profit, people would swallow their pride and do whatever it took. Besides, this was old news. Mr. Varga had fooled around plenty on the side himself; it wasn't as if his wife was the love of his life. Luther simply wanted to use Varga to make an example, ensuring no one would ever dare mess with Damien again.

It takes two to tango.

This wasn't entirely Damien's fault to begin with.

Sitting in the car, Lori couldn't help but marvel.

—Damien had certainly secured the ultimate backing.

...

Late at night.

In the emergency room at City First Hospital.

Damien was admitted to stay overnight.

The sound of footsteps shattered the quiet. The injured man opened his eyes to see the impossibly busy CEO gracing his room, flanked by his secretary and special assistant. Damien shifted lazily on the bed, his nose twitching instinctively.

Luther raised a hand, signaling Lori and Quill to wait outside.

He walked over and sat beside Damien. Picking up an apple, he casually peeled and sliced it. Once finished, he speared a piece on a fork and offered it to Damien's lips. "Yes, your instincts were right. I slept with your sister."

The veins on Damien's forehead bulged.

But in the end, he didn't say a word.
