She Was Never Just a Pretty Face novel Chapter 283

Joyce scooped the little girl up and turned to the nanny. "I'm going to take Jocelyn out for the weekend. Could you pack three outfits for her, some formula, and the usual essentials?"

The nanny glanced at Luther standing nearby, practically bursting with excitement.

It looked like wedding bells were in the near future for their young miss.

And what a handsome catch he was.

The nanny efficiently packed the diaper bag.

Joyce also ran upstairs to grab two outfits for herself.

Leaving the toddler in Luther's care.

The two-year-old girl was incredibly adorable.

Especially since she was his own flesh and blood.

Luther sat on the sofa with the little girl, letting her stand on his thighs, completely unbothered by the fact that she might dirty his expensive trousers. Jocelyn cupped his face with her soft, chubby little hands, studying him with intense curiosity. Deciding she liked how handsome this new uncle was, she leaned in and affectionately kissed the tip of his nose.

Luther's heart melted completely.

He rested his forehead against the little girl's.

Taking in the sweet, milky scent of her.

She still smelled just like a newborn.

He kissed her soft cheek, his large hands securely wrapping around her tiny body, terrified she might slip and fall.

As Joyce came downstairs, she caught sight of the scene.

Luther looked exceptionally gentle. Jocelyn was standing on his lap, kicking her little legs in delight. Seeing how well they were getting along, a warm smile spread across her face. She walked over quietly and gently stroked Jocelyn's cheek. "She's adorable, isn't she? Just as sweet as Annie and Landon."

Luther looked up at her. "You think so?"

Joyce's cheeks heated up.

She didn't want him to misunderstand and think she was hinting at starting a blended family.

She shoved her overnight bag into his arms and scooped Jocelyn up herself.
