Early the next morning, Hilda woke up.

She could hear faint rustling sounds coming from the living room.

At first, she assumed it was Luther getting out of bed.

But when she opened her eyes, she found herself still tucked securely in his arms, her face buried in the crook of his neck. Luther's hand was clamped possessively around her waist—an incredibly intimate embrace.

The morning light spilled across Luther's face, casting a sharp highlight across his straight nose and emphasizing his chiseled features. In the quiet morning glow, he exuded an irresistible, almost domestic charm.

"You're awake? Go back to sleep for a bit."

Luther's hand slid up to her back.

He pulled her a little closer.

Hilda whispered a gentle warning. "Luther, there's someone outside."

Luther slowly opened his eyes, offering a warm smile. "I had Lori drop a few things off. Just rest. We can get up after she leaves."

They looked far too tangled up right now.

Who knew if Lori had brought any male staff with her?

Luther absolutely refused to let anyone else see his wife like this.

It was just a touch of dark, masculine possessiveness.

Hilda didn't argue. Just as she was about to close her eyes again, Luther's hand started wandering, his lips brushing eagerly against her ear. "Once more?"

Hilda hissed through her teeth, "Luther, someone is out there."

The moment the words left her mouth, he rolled over, pinning her beneath him.

He planted one hand beside her head, using the other to yank her robe loose. His voice dropped to a gravelly purr. "No one would dare walk in. Just keep your voice down."

The bedroom door was closed, but there were still occasional sounds filtering in from the outside.

Luther wasn't just focused on his own pleasure; he went out of his way to cater to his wife. He stared down at her, completely obsessed with the sight of her unraveling beneath him. His eyes burned with an intense, commanding hunger—a side of him Hilda had never witnessed before.

She clamped her eyes shut, unable to meet his gaze.

…

Meanwhile, Lori had finished sorting everything out.

She dismissed all the brand representatives first.

Then she walked up to the master bedroom door, giving it a light knock and keeping her voice hushed. "Mr. Sanford, I'm heading out now."

Inside the bedroom, the air was thick with heat.

Luther had always been forceful and relentless in bed.

Her dark hair spilled wildly across the pillows.

—Trapped in a breathless, helpless kiss.

He was entirely absorbed in the kiss. Even hearing Lori's knock, he didn't stop. Instead, he stared fixedly at Hilda, forcing her to look at him, refusing to let her pull away even an inch. His lips brushed against her ear as he murmured, "Don't zone out on me."

A second later, she completely broke down in tears.

Over the last couple of weeks, Hilda felt as though her body had been entirely hollowed out.

And yet, Luther still frequently acted like a starving man.

After the storm finally passed, he pressed a soothing kiss to the corner of her lips.

Hilda gently laid the phone aside. What woman wouldn't love all of this? But she knew deep down that this was her price tag. This was her compensation for sleeping with Luther, and perhaps an advance payment for bearing his next child.

Luther finished his shower and walked out, already dressed in a crisp shirt and trousers.

Hilda was still staring into space in a daze.

She was wrapped in a blush-pink silk robe, cinched at the waist. She looked so fragile and soft, practically designed for a man's embrace.

Luther couldn't help but pull her against him from behind, kissing her flawless skin as he murmured, "Do you like them?"

Hilda turned around, still looking slightly lost.

"Luther?"

Luther knew exactly what she was about to ask. He cupped the back of her neck, his thumb gently tracing her red lips. "Is it really that hard to understand? We're not getting a divorce. From now on, you are undeniably Mrs. Sanford."

Hilda: "..."

She had actually wanted to ask about Jolie.

But it was obvious Luther had zero interest in discussing her.

Men born into that kind of extreme wealth and power were always incredibly arrogant.

—Hilda was the one who had fallen for him first.

She had given him Annie. Now, he was committing to the family, providing her with a luxurious life where she wanted for nothing, and he had completely severed his private ties with Jolie. In his eyes, he was already doing everything a perfect husband should. If Hilda still wasn't satisfied, she was asking for too much.

In their marriage, Luther held all the power.

What he was willing to give her was endless wealth and physical loyalty.

As for anything else, she had no right to bring it up.
