She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 110

The room fell dead silent.

Caleb glanced at his sister. Her head was bowed, her gaze fixed sharply on her documents. Her profile was elegant and serene, but he suddenly realized she commanded genuine authority within the company now.

Ever since she had systematically purged the corporate leeches bleeding the firm dry, the executives had completely changed their tune. She had gone from being dismissed as a pampered, clueless heiress to an undeniable leader whose orders they followed without question.

A fair share of the board had secretly despised the dead weight hogging the company's resources anyway. After Lyra's ruthless house-cleaning, morale had miraculously stabilized.

Lyra looked up from her files, sweeping her gaze across the room. "According to reliable sources, the Jameson Group is about to leak that our government contract has fallen through. They plan to aggressively short our stock. Next Wednesday is the critical day."

In reality, there were no 'reliable sources'—only the agonizing memories of her past life.

Lyra remembered with absolute clarity that next Wednesday was destined to go down in history as Black Wednesday.

Computing power, AI, and the entire tech sector were going to crash into the abyss.

And Fairchild Holdings would hit rock bottom right alongside them.

That was the exact day the complete collapse of the Fairchild empire had truly begun.

"What did you just say?!" Caleb's reaction was visceral. He practically leaped out of his chair. He had assumed Rowan pulling out of their partnership was petty revenge for the fight. He never imagined it was merely the opening move of a total war.

Lyra raised a hand to elegantly wipe away a fleck of spit that had flown onto her cheek, her expression eerily calm.

"Miss Fairchild, are you absolutely sure about this?" a director asked nervously.

"You'll find out whether it's true next Wednesday," Lyra replied flatly.

In her previous life, she had been so blinded by her toxic romance that she didn't realize Rowan was dismantling her family until there was nothing left but ash.

In this life, she absolutely refused to be led to the slaughter.

If Rowan was so determined to teach the Fairchilds a brutal lesson, so be it.

She would make the Jameson Group pay in blood, shattering Rowan's untouchable arrogance once and for all.

Just then, her phone rang. Lyra gathered her files, tucked them under her arm, and answered the call as she headed for the door. Over her shoulder, she instructed, "Caleb, if you have anything else to say, continue the meeting."

There was nothing left to say.

Mind spinning, Caleb just waved a hand. "Meeting adjourned..."

"I hate it. Let's go look at The Imperial Heights," she declared.

Caleb had just walked in from inspecting the balcony with the realtor when he heard her. He flashed an apologetic smile at the agent, grabbed Lyra's arm, and yanked her aside. "Are you out of your mind? The estates at The Imperial Heights cost upwards of hundreds of millions of dollars."

"I know," Lyra replied effortlessly.

"If you know, then why... Look, if Kayla falls in love with one of those mansions and we can't afford it, we're going to look like complete fools."

Lyra rolled her eyes. "As if we couldn't afford it."

Fairchild Holdings aside, her covert hedge fund in California had amassed over a billion dollars in assets after a year of relentless, aggressive investing. Did he really have no idea how much cash Fairchild Holdings had raked in this year?

"Kayla, let's go check out some other places," Lyra called out.

"I don't think we need to, Lyra... This is plenty of space for Caleb and me. I actually really love it," Kayla replied softly.

"The vibes here are atrocious," Lyra insisted, looping her arm through Kayla's. She turned to the stunned realtor. "Take us to The Imperial Heights, please."

"Right away, Miss Fairchild!" The realtor's eyes lit up with greed. If he could close a deal at The Imperial Heights, his commission check would be astronomically high.
