It had been a long time since the dining table at the Fairchild estate was this full.
Caleb caught them up on recent events, mentioning that Lyra had just bought a luxury car worth millions of dollars.
Ever since she started working, Lyra had been driving one of the family's spare sedans, so treating herself to her own ride wasn't too surprising.
And then there was Lyra's eerie intuition. She had guessed twins, and sure enough, it was twins!
Lyra looked a bit sheepish. "My dreams just happen to be pretty accurate."
Kayla smiled, revealing her signature dimples, her expression bashful. "I couldn't even believe it when the doctor told me."
"My sister is basically a psychic," Caleb joked, before his tone shifted. "It's just..."
Caleb's smile faded. "Dad was still here then. If he were around to hear he was going to be a grandfather, he would have been ecstatic."
"..." Delilah froze, while Kayla subtly pinched Caleb's thigh beneath the table.
"It's alright, he knows," Delilah finally said with a serene smile. "I was thinking of setting up a meditation room in the house. A place to light candles, reflect, and find some peace. Just one spare room would do, if you all wouldn't mind..."
The other three naturally agreed without hesitation.
The next day, after the meditation room was prepared, Delilah led her children and daughter-in-law in a quiet moment of reflection, paying their respects.
By evening, Delilah had changed into a tailored, elegant outfit, looking ready to head out.
"Mom, where are you going?"
"You're coming with me to the Chavez estate. We're going to settle a score."
Lyra was stunned. The Chavez family?
That really wasn't necessary...
In fact, Isabella thought Delilah was being incredibly petty and making a mountain out of a molehill.
Delilah hadn't expected such a dismissive attitude. "I've heard you dote heavily on Lucas. Today, I see it's true."
Isabella scoffed, rolling her eyes.
Delilah didn't lose her composure for a second. She just stared at the couple and stated calmly, "Julian, Isabella. I didn't come here today to cause a scene. But my daughter was shoved into a pool in front of a crowd by your son. She was terrified, and frankly, heartbroken. As her mother, I have to demand an explanation..."
Julian chuckled nervously. "Delilah, look, it's just young people throwing a tantrum. It was an accident in the heat of the moment, nothing serious. I'll have Lucas come over to formally apologize another day. Why don't you head home for now?"
Julian desperately wanted to usher the Fairchild women out the door before Silas caught wind of the situation.
He wanted to avoid a blown-up scandal that would end up making his son miserable.
Unfortunately for him, their tense, hushed standoff ultimately caught the attention of Silas, who had just walked into the foyer.
