“What the hell is that?” I hold Harvey’s arm when I see what’s happening in front of our vehicle.

“I’m coming.” Harvey whispers to me and I grab his hands this time.

What does he mean he’s coming? These men are holding weapons that look like they belong in a horror movie. Chainsaws with rusted blades. Pipes wrapped in barbed wire. Baseball batsith nails hammered through the ends. Guns hanging at hips, slung over shoulders, tucked into waistbands like they’re accessories.

There must be fifty vehicles. Motorcycles lined up like a funeral procession for someone who isn’t dead yet. Trucks with men standing in the beds with arms crossed.

And at the front, standing alone is a man with cold white hair. His wearing a leather jacket despite the heat and has wrinkles that look like battle scars. He looks pure evil. That’s the person Harvey is going to meet?

“Call the cops-” I start.

“Jennifer. Give me two minutes.”

“Sir, we should call the cops.” Laura looks back at us.

“Tell the lawyers to stay in the car and do not get out under any rcumstance until I give them the go ahead. You get?”

“Sir-”

“Elio, once I come out, you’ll come out with me and go into the lack seat with Jennifer.”

“Yes, sir.” Elio says it calmly, like Harvey just asked him to pass the salt instead of walking into an army.

I’m scared. My hands are shaking on his arm because I don’t understand who that man is and who these people are. Gangsters. Mafias. Whatever they are!

“Harvey, are you insane? You’re going out there-”

“I’ll be back in a second, alright.”

“You-“I’m about to tell him everything that he can’t leave me, that we just got married and I didn’t sign up to be a widow when he kisses me and goes out.

“Harvey! Harvey!” I scream his name but Elio slides into the back seat with me, closing the door behind him.

“Mrs. Prescott, it’s going to be fine.”

“How is it going to be fine?” My voice is cracking, my hands are slaking, I’m literally about to lose my mind. “Who are these

men?!”

Elio’s face remains calm.

“That is Mr. Moreui. He is a Don.”

“Jenna’s dad?”

“Yes,”

I look again.

Harvey is standing confidently in front of the gauge of motorcyes and cars. He’s not running, just standing there with his hands slightly away from his body, showing he’s not reaching for anything,

The men are getting off their bikes now and they start circling in like wolves. Some of them rest their hands on the guns at their waists. Others pull knives from their pockets, flipping then open. One guy actually puts a shotgun on his shoulder, points it at the sky to intimidate him, surround him and make him feel small.

Did Jenna report Harvey The Moretti properties!

her dad about how he evicted her? No… no, it’s because of the buildings! The buildings he burnt.

“Oh my goodness.” Tears stagger to my eyes. “It’s because of the buildings, isn’t it? He’s here because Harvey burned his buildings!”

Laura looks back at both of us from the front seat.

“I’m going to call the cops. The last thing I want is Harvey to die few minutes before he takes over as CEO of Prescott Holdings.”

“He won’t die. Please, have faith in him.”

over my eyes. I can’t watch. I can’t.

Laura is speaking into the phone, telling the lawyers to stand down and be at attention but all I can see is Harvey standing alone in front of an army.

All I can think is that I just became Mrs. Prescott and I might become a widow before the sun sets.

All of a sudden, a quite taller dude comes forward and when he lives space, I see Reign, smoking a cigarette and looking straight into the car like he can see me.

Whatever they’re talking about right this moment involves me because Harvey looks right at me too. I see something grave on his face the moment he does so and the next thing that happens is he pulls something.

The Don’s men snap to alert instantly. Hands move to weapons. Bodies shift into fighting stances and the biggest of the Don’s dudes starts coming forward/ He rolls his shoulders, crack his neck, and steps up to Harvey.

Then Harvey moves.

The fight is brutal from the first second. Harvey’s fist connects with the giant’s face and the dude staggers but doesn’t fall. He swings back, massive arm arcing through the air, and Harvey duks it.

My heart is in my throat. I can’t breathe. I can’t blink.

Harvey lands another punch. Then another. The dude’s face is already swelling, blood spraying from his nose, but keeps coming. He grabs Harvey’s shirt and tries to throw him but Harvey twists, grabs the guy’s arm, and-

CRACK.

The scream that comes out of that mountain of a man is not human. Harvey has bent his arm in a position that ar supposed to bend. Elbow pointing the wrong way. Bones visible rough skin.

Harvey doesn’t stop. He punches the guy in the throat and the seaming cuts off as he crashes to the ground.

Four dudes come forward immediately and they surround Hary y

He fights them faster than the first. It’s like watching water flow.mpossible to predict, impossible to stop. He takes a gun from one of them, twists it out of his hand and starts shooting.

But not at them.
