Chapter 190
Chapter 190
Atlas showed up to pick up Layla from school again.
Seriously, this wasn’t his first rodeo.
From the very beginning, everyone was freaked out. The principal and department heads scrambled to pay their respects to Atlas, and the students didn’t even dare to breathe too loudly.
Even the cocky troublemakers who used to swagger around were now doing their best to disappear.
After all, this was Atlas, the legendary commander and the strongest in the universe.
There were a bunch of girls at school who totally envied Layla.
But none of them were bitter about it.
Aside from her not-so-great family background, Layla basically beat them in everything else.
She was better looking, and her shift tier blew theirs out of the water.
And what really drove them crazy was that Layla could’ve just gone the trooper route and cashed in on her raw power, but instead, she chose to make it big with her brains.
Even the teachers at school were impressed by Layla’s mech suit designs.
When Layla got the ping from Zaa that Atlas was already waiting at the school gate, class was long over.
But she was still caught up with Shayla, hashing out the nitty-gritty of mech suit design.
Shayla had spent half the night on the forum, deep in discussion with the legendary mech suit master Hades. And since Layla was her absolute favorite student, she just couldn’t resist diving even deeper into the details with her.
Layla found it both funny and annoying.
She’d already spent ages last night deep in discussion with Shayla, and here they were, going at it all over again.
The funny part was that Jayvon was hanging out with them, too.
Honestly, it felt like a total time sink. She was basically having the same conversation with two people, both using different handles, but it all boiled down to the same thing.
Now that Atlas had arrived, Layla didn’t want to keep him waiting. She smiled at Shayla and said, “You’re right, Ms. Mcgrath. I’ll go put together my notes and come back to discuss them with you once I’m done.”
With that, she excused herself and hurried off.
It was obvious Shayla wasn’t ready to call it quits yet. Just like when Andrew got caught up in some fascinating medical debate, she could totally lose track of time, forgetting to eat or sleep.
She just stood there, a little dazed, watching her favorite student hurry out of the classroom, not quite processing what had just happened.
“Why is Layla in such a rush?” Shayla asked, still a bit confused.
Jayvon, who was also a little disappointed the conversation had ended, started packing up his books with a wry smile. “Probably because Prince Atlas is here to pick her up,” he said.

Chapter 190
Shayla was momentarily speechless.
Then it hit her. Layla and Atlas were getting married soon.
These days, Jayvon was all about his studies. Layla might be a superstar, but he could hold his own.
He was Hades’s student, after all.
As Jayvon was about to speak, Shayla added, “I’ve been speaking with Hades lately. Whenever I share his ideas with Layla,
grasps them instantly, like a natural talent. I’m considering recommending her as his student.”
she
Shayla also wished she could be Hades’s student herself, but she was probably too old for that.
But Layla was in a league of her own.
Jayvon, who’d just been riding high on the fact that he was Hades’s student, suddenly felt awkward and deflated.
‘No way, Hade wouldn’t actually take Layla as his student… right? And even if he did, I’d still be her senior, Jayvon tried to comfort himself.
Layla had no clue her student was secretly feeling jealous and trying to one-up her. When she got to the school gate, she spotted Atlas waiting by the aero-vehicle.
Right next to him stood the Crown Squad, those guys who usually strutted around like they owned the place. But now, they were all acting super respectful, bowing to Atlas like he was royalty.
Atlas didn’t make a fuss. Once they’d all paid their respects, he just waved them off
The Crown Squad looked like they’d just been granted a reprieve, and they hurried onto another aero-vehicle.
Xanthe, clearly not happy about it, shot a resentful look over her shoulder, just in time to see Layla heading over to Atlas.
Atlas had been all cold and aloof with the Crown Squad just seconds ago, but the moment he spotted Layla, his icy demeanor melted away, and he flashed her a smile that could make anyone’s heart skip a beat.
Romeo glanced back and saw Xanthe still lingering outside the aero-vehicle. He shouted, “Quit staring and hop in. We still need to go visit Tomas.”
Tomas had just come to. He’d basically cheated death, and even his psychic force was starting to recover.
It was the one bit of good luck in all this mess.
But for Xanthe, this was hardly something to be happy about.
Even so, she still ended up trailing after the Crown Squad to go visit Tomas.
Layla spotted the Crown Squad and the others as she walked over.
She also overheard their conversation.
Atlas stepped forward, took Layla’s hand, and led her toward thefaero-vehicle.
He leaned in and asked softly, “Do you want to go visit Tomas too?”
Layla paused for a second and then quickly shook her head. “I’m not going to see him. We barely even know each other. I was actually watching Xanthe. I just get this feeling she’s up to no good.”
“She’s been sticking close to Krish lately. You know how it goes. Bad company corrupts good morals. None of them is any good,” Atlas said, finally sounding a bit relieved.

Layla didn’t beat around the bush. “Ninth, if I get Zaa to watch Xanthe, will the Prime AI on Alpha Prime notice?”
“Zaa isn’t authorized for that. Let Zee handle it. It has higher clearance and camera access. Unless I spy on Krish, the Prime Al won’t interfere. The same applies to him,” Atlas explained.
The Prime AI only answered to the king. So, when Atlas and Layla got legally bonded, if the king said to keep it secret, even Krish wouldn’t have a clue.
