Chapter 73 When the Queen Called
“Move!” Sylvie shoved one of them aside before storming away.
Anya stumbled from the push, her temper flaring instantly. “Who do you think you are? Do you think you can just walk away after pushing people to the ground?”
She was about to chase after Sylvie when Hazel grabbed her arm. “Wait. Take a good look at her. Doesn’t she look like someone we know?”
“Huh?” Roxanne and Anya froze at the same time.
All three of them stared at Sylvie’s retreating figure. The longer they looked, the more familiar it seemed.
“Isn’t she the woman who kicked us out of the hospital that day?” one of them blurted out.
They exclaimed almost in unison.
The angry words Anya wanted to spew were promptly lodged in her throat.
They had only met Sylvie once, but the impression she left was unforgettable.
Her overwhelming beauty and presence made them feel dull by comparison. Coupled with her decisive, ruthless way of driving them out? Suffice it to say, her mere presence had sent a chill down their spines. Her figure seemed to loom in their minds, terrorizing them.
‘I’m no match for her.’ The same thought surfaced simultaneously in all their minds.
It wasn’t personal. They simply felt small in comparison. It was just an instinctive reaction to someone’s way about their league.
“Why is she here?” Anya asked cautiously, no longer upset at Sylvie’s actions.
“I don’t know,” Hazel said gravely, shaking her head. “Dr. Stone probably invited her. Regardless, there’s one thing I’m sure of, and that is-she’s not someone we can afford to provoke.”
Roxanne and Anya said nothing, clearly in agreement.
It didn’t matter who she was. Just the way she carried herself was enough to make them flinch.
After Sylvie left, the banquet hall fell into even greater chaos.
Unfortunately, they had no idea what was going on since they were standing so far back.
“Bad news! Roxanne, Ms. Solberg, come here, quick!” Artemisia’s voice rang out from ahead.
They hurried over to her. “What happened?”
“My father… He… Artemisia was so flustered she couldn’t even form a coherent sentence. others looked toward the stage, and their eyes promptly widened in disbelief.
