Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 168

Leo thanked him and drank nearly half the bottle.

Silas looked down at him. "What's your name?"

"I used to be Leo Sterling, but now I'm Leo Vance." Leo looked up at Summer. "Mom, is that okay?"

Summer nodded. "Of course it is. It's your name, you get to decide. As long as you're happy."

*So the kid changed his own last name. Xavier's son is actually pretty cute.*

Silas already had a great impression of the boy. He held out a hand. "I'm Silas Sinclair. Nice to meet you."

Leo reached out and shook it. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Sinclair."

"Leo, until Mom finalizes the divorce with your father, you'll be staying with Mr. Sinclair. Is that okay?"

During the drive, Summer had explained her reasoning to Leo, and he had obediently agreed.

But this was still his first time meeting Silas.

Summer was worried Leo might be frightened. After all, he was only five years old.

Summer wasn't even entirely sure if what she was doing was right.

But she had stayed up all night racking her brain and couldn't think of a safer plan than hiding Leo with Silas.

She knew her logic and actions were bordering on unhinged.

After all, she had no real relationship with Silas. But after he had helped her during her stomach incident, she inherently felt he was a decent person.

And Xavier had truly backed her into a corner with no other way out.

She couldn't exactly send a five-year-old out of the country—it was too far, and she'd be terrified with worry. Even sending him to another province felt too distant.

However, what was even more unhinged was Silas.

Silas had actually agreed to the plan, and even showed up to pick them up in person!

Right now, Leo felt that as long as he wasn't with Xavier, anyone else was fine.

He nodded obediently. "I know, Mom. Don't worry. Mr. Sinclair smells a lot like you. It's really nice. I like him."

So, staying with Silas didn't seem so scary after all.

Silas let out a soft laugh. "I'm wearing the cologne your mom gifted me."

Summer gave Leo a tight hug. "Be a good boy and listen to Mr. Sinclair. Call me whenever you miss me."

Meanwhile, shortly after the designated driver had driven Summer's car away, he was pulled over by the traffic police.

Half an hour later, several luxury cars roared onto the scene. A man stepped out, his expression freezing and his aura terrifying, flanked by several men in black suits.

The man strode directly up to the designated driver. "Where are they?"

The driver was practically shaking. He had just accepted a driving gig, got pulled over and aggressively questioned by the cops for half an hour, and now *this*?

Another group of people?

And these guys looked like people you didn't mess with.

The driver panicked. *Was the car stolen? Is this a cartel thing?*

Thankfully, a traffic officer stepped in. "Mr. Sterling, he's just a designated driver. I've verified his identity and the app registration. He's clean."

Xavier's dark eyes turned dangerously grim. "Where did he pick up the car?"

The officer replied, "The Historic District. My colleagues have already checked the area, but the surveillance grid there is spotty and cameras are often broken. We haven't been able to track where Ms. Vance took the young master yet."

Xavier's icy expression finally shifted as he let out a cold laugh. "She's really outdone herself this time."
