Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 180

Lily was utterly euphoric, feeling a rush of vindication wash over her. Having such powerful backing felt absolutely incredible.

Not to mention, she had two titans standing behind her.

Even if Xavier stepped back, she still had her fiercely protective brother.

Her smile grew blindingly bright as she stared down at Summer with unconcealed triumph, her eyes dripping with sheer contempt.

Summer's sole objective had been to scam Lily out of massive sums of money. Now that she had successfully achieved her goal, she was thrilled. Lily's petty provocations meant absolutely nothing to her.

She was just about to officially fold.

But then, Silas Sinclair's voice cut through the air. "If she doesn't follow, I will."

Summer jolted in shock. "!"

Whipping her head toward the VIP suite, she saw Silas casually making a very specific hand gesture to the organizers.

He had just placed another blank-check bid!

This time, the crowd didn't just gasp—the sheer volume of their screaming practically blew the roof off the auction house.

Summer dug her nails into her palms to keep from passing out. Did she just accidentally scam Silas instead?!

Knowing Lily would sabotage her, she had abandoned all hopes of winning the tea set early on. Her backup plan had been to visit Heritage Row later and pick out a different set as a gift for him.

Her aggressive bidding had been a calculated act to push Lily into burning cash!

Even if she didn't win the item, forcing them to overpay astronomically was deeply satisfying vengeance.

But she never, ever expected Silas to drop another blank check on her behalf.

Did billionaires just view money as meaningless confetti?!

Who just throws out limitless bids on a whim?!

Silas was definitely going to be infamous after this. Tomorrow's front-page headlines were practically locked in.

Lily's moment of glory hadn't even lasted two minutes before Silas hijacked the spotlight, turning her expression completely black with fury.

It was only then that she began to connect the dots.

Summer was intercepted by the auction house security staff at the staircase.

"Summer, are you trying to sneak upstairs to find Silas?"

Lily and her group sauntered over, flanked by several top-tier event organizers.

Summer gave her a frosty stare. "What does it have to do with you?"

"Summer, I'm just trying to warn you," Lily said mockingly. "The Sinclair Group and the Sterling Group are mortal enemies. You know perfectly well that Xavier and Silas despise each other."

"And?" Summer looked at her with pure apathy, her expression entirely unbothered. "What does any of that have to do with me?"

Lily frowned deeply. "Summer, considering our past, I'm just telling you not to do something you'll bitterly regret."

Summer let out a soft, mocking laugh. "Do you honestly think I need a reminder from you?"

Xavier called her name in a brutally cold tone. "Summer!"

"What?" Summer shifted her smiling, piercing gaze to Xavier, projecting nothing but hostility. "Do you have some brilliant advice for me, Mr. Sterling? Or was anything I just said factually incorrect?"
