Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 202

He had been staying at the hospital lately.

Summer planned to take advantage of the time before Xavier woke up to get Wesley to agree to treat her mother.

But Wesley kept avoiding Summer.

Left with no other choice, Summer cornered Wesley in the men's restroom.

Wesley had never seen such a bold woman. For a moment, he was shocked, amused, and helpless.

"Ms. Vance, you're in the wrong place. This is the men's room."

Summer looked at him candidly. "No, I'm looking for you."

Wesley's head throbbed. "Then step outside first. Wait for me for a bit, and we'll talk later."

Summer looked at him with no intention of leaving. "Dr. Whitmore, my mother is right here in your hospital. You're also staying at the hospital recently. Can I beg you to just take a look at her?"

As she spoke, Summer slumped to the floor in sheer desperation, completely ignoring the fact that this was a public restroom. No matter how clean the janitor kept it, it didn't change the reality of where they were.

"Dr. Whitmore," Summer's eyes instantly turned red, tears shimmering in her gaze. "I know you're not someone who would refuse to save a dying patient. Doctors have the most compassionate hearts. Please, I'm begging you, take pity on me and save my mother."

Just then, a man pushed open the restroom door and walked in.

As soon as he entered, he was caught off guard by the sight of Summer slumped on the floor.

The man gasped, startled.

Then, his gaze darted back and forth between Wesley, who was standing, and Summer, who was on the floor with red eyes.

Who knew what the man was imagining, but a look of shocking realization dawned on his face, a bizarre gleam flashing in his eyes.

Wesley might have never been in a relationship, but he wasn't stupid. He understood exactly what the man was implying.

Wesley said, "Summer, step outside first."

The man waved his hands repeatedly. "It's fine, it's fine. Sorry, sorry to intrude. Please, continue, carry on!"

Wesley didn't want to beat around the bush anymore and asked bluntly, "Summer, you have a video of his infidelity. Did you use it to threaten him? Did he ask me not to treat your mother to keep you in check?"

Summer shook her head, tears falling down her cheeks. Wesley froze for a moment, then grabbed a tissue and handed it to her.

Summer said thank you, took the tissue to wipe her tears, and said, "I accidentally found out he loves Lily Sutton. Marrying me was just a matter of convenience. He never loved me, so I brought up divorce."

"I demanded half his net worth and custody of my son, which made him very angry. He said if I wanted a divorce, he had to be the one to initiate it. And he'd only give me millions of dollars, refusing to give me custody of my son. Don't you think he's crossing the line?"

Wesley nodded. "He crossed a line."

"Not a real man at all, right?"

Wesley nodded again. "Not at all." It was a disgrace to all men.

Which billionaire CEO would only offer that much in a divorce, treating it like a handout to a beggar?

It was simply humiliating.
