The smile on Lily's face faltered for a fraction of a second before stretching even wider. "Don't be so impatient, Summer. You'll get your turn to be screamed at by Professor Banks soon enough."

Lily was absolutely convinced that Summer's proposal couldn't possibly beat hers.

Lily scoffed lightly. "Who do you think you are, Summer? Do you honestly believe that just because you're somewhat friendly with Gavin Loomis and Jude Montgomery, Professor Banks is going to compromise his integrity? Do you have zero self-awareness? How dare you mock me!"

Summer laughed out loud and turned to face her. "Lily, you've been publicly humiliated multiple times, yet you're the one with zero self-awareness. You want me to stop mocking you? Fine. Write a proposal that Professor Banks actually approves of. But you can't, can you? Calling yourself a genius? Please."
