"Muah—"
"Screech—"
The deafening screech of brakes tore through the air.
A Bentley slammed to an aggressive halt directly in front of Silas's car. The door was flung open, and Xavier stepped out, his face dark as a thundercloud.
Xavier was on his way to work, and this was his usual route. He had never expected to witness Leo hugging Silas, let alone kissing him.
The Sinclair family was the Sterling family's sworn enemy!
How could his own son be so affectionately close to Silas?!
It was at this exact moment that Xavier finally confirmed that the child with the cashew allergy at the hospital that day was indeed Leo.
Leo had been staying with Silas this entire time!
Remembering how Summer and Silas had joined forces to make an absolute fool of him in the hospital ward.
Uncontrollable fury boiled over in Xavier's chest, his eyes flashing with ice. "Summer, you better give me a perfectly reasonable explanation for this right now!"
"Xavier, who exactly are you yelling at?" Silas pulled Leo behind him, shielding both the boy and Summer.
Seeing the tall man and the little boy guarding her like knights, Summer felt a sudden rush of warmth in her heart.
Leo tilted his head up and glared at Xavier. "Mister, you aren't allowed to yell at my mom! Apologize to my mom right now!"
The image of Leo kissing Silas flashed through Xavier's mind again, throwing fuel on the fire. He scolded coldly, "Leo, where are your manners? Have you forgotten how to call me Dad?"
Leo's eyes were full of stubborn defiance. "You were the one who didn't want me first. So why should I call you Dad? Apologize to my mom right now."
Since Summer now held custody, Xavier suppressed his violent temper and gritted his teeth. "Summer, we need to talk."
Remembering how she had been dumped on the side of the road the night before, Summer replied icily, "Xavier, we are already divorced. We have nothing to discuss."
Xavier's expression darkened, and he issued a grim threat. "Summer, don't forget that Leo is still registered on the Sterling family's household registration."
Silas let out a sharp laugh. "Xavier, what an eye-opener. Is threatening women the only move you have left?"
Xavier snapped coldly, "Silas, this is my family's business. As a total outsider, what right do you have to butt in?"
"Is that so?" Silas offered a profoundly loaded smile. He looked down at Leo. "Leo, what do you call me?"
Despite only being five years old, Leo was incredibly smart. He instantly grasped what Silas was doing and shouted at the top of his lungs, "Dad!"
Hearing his own son call his sworn nemesis "Dad" with his own ears nearly gave Xavier a heart attack on the spot.
After a long moment, he managed to forcefully steady his breathing and glared mockingly at Silas. "Is Silas incapable of having a son of his own? Is that why you're so eager to raise your rival's son?"
Leo instantly fired back, "I am not your son! I am my mom's son!"
Silas didn't say a word, but a victorious smile broke across his face. With one arm, he scooped Leo up, and with his free hand, he took Summer's. "Xavier, let's chat another time. I need to take my fiancée and my son home."
Driven to the brink of madness, Xavier kicked Silas's luxury car hard.
