Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 331

"Summer, dear, about that little favor I mentioned before... do you still remember?"

"Of course I do! I promised you, Grandpa. Just set it up whenever you're ready. I actually have some time off coming up."

Old Man Whitmore let out a hearty laugh of pure delight. "That's wonderful! I'll let you know as soon as I lock in a time. Alright, I won't keep you from your dinner any longer. Have fun!"

Summer handed the phone back to Wesley, who exchanged a few more words with his grandfather before hanging up.

The lively dinner stretched on, eventually transitioning to a karaoke bar. By the time everything wrapped up, it was already 2 AM.

As the project lead, Summer, alongside Wesley, made sure every intoxicated team member was safely packed into a cab, diligently recording license plates and driver details.

After sending off the final colleague, she and Wesley walked toward the parking lot together.

Wesley chuckled. "You really know how to drop a bombshell. Professor Banks' protégé, and Pax."

Wesley himself hadn't known Summer was Pax until he arrived at the award ceremony.

When he saw her enter with Pax's invitation, he assumed she was just accepting the award on Pax's behalf. It wasn't until Harrison Banks clarified things that he realized the truth.

Thinking back to how Summer used to dress every time she visited the lab, Wesley couldn't help but laugh.

Summer smiled. "It's my honor to surprise you, Mr. Whitmore."

Chatting effortlessly, they arrived at her parking spot.

Just as Summer was about to get into her car, Wesley spoke up. "Let me drive you. The old man practically drilled it into my head that I had to personally and safely escort you home tonight."

"Huh?"

"He knows about the kidnapping."

"It's fine. My brother hired a whole team of bodyguards for me."

"Yet you still got kidnapped. Clearly, they aren't up to standard."

Wesley insisted on walking her all the way to her front door. Summer thought about inviting him in for a drink—it seemed rude not to, considering he had driven her all the way home.

But it was incredibly late, and inviting a man inside at this hour could easily send the wrong message.

Just as she was hesitating, Wesley smoothly stepped in. "It's getting late, so I'll head out now."

He really was a man who understood boundaries. Summer nodded. "Thank you for bringing me home, Wesley. Drive safe."

The project group chat was pinging relentlessly as everyone checked in to confirm they had made it home safely.

Summer dropped a quick message to let them know she was back. Just as she closed the chat, she noticed a text from Old Man Whitmore.

It contained the address of an exclusive private kitchen, a VIP room number, and the time for her blind date.

It also included The Blind Date Cipher: *The woman asks: 'Are you here to unlock destiny?' The man answers: 'Yes, I'm here to test my luck.'*
