Harrison Banks' bodyguards stepped forward to report. "We didn't let them harm a single hair on the little gentleman's head."
Professor Banks nodded. "Tell me exactly what happened."
The bodyguards concisely summarized the entire incident.
One of them pointed at Xavier Sterling. "He didn't bother to investigate or verify the facts. He blindly accused the boy and threatened to use physical discipline on him."
Professor Banks looked over. His expression was impassive, yet he radiated an intimidating authority. "Mr. Sterling, you are the CEO of a massive corporation. Do you usually make your decisions this recklessly?"
Lilith Sutton, still desperate to be accepted as Professor Banks' student, worried this would ruin her image. She stepped forward to smooth things over. "Professor Banks, it was really just kids playing around. A little misunderstanding, that's all."
"Playing around?" Professor Banks met her gaze. His tone was flat and devoid of emotion, yet suffocatingly oppressive. "Lying, false accusations, and physical violence count as playing around? By the way,"
He turned to Leo Vance. "What exactly is this discipline?"
"It depends on the mistake," Leo explained calmly. "But the minimum is ten lashes with a whip!"
The elderly professors gasped, their hearts aching with fury. They had only known Leo for the duration of a single meal,
but that was more than enough time to read someone's character.
Leo was brilliantly smart and incredibly well-behaved. His clear, bright eyes proved he wasn't a liar.
In stark contrast, Hunter Sutton had a shifty gaze. The moment he heard there was security footage, panic had completely washed over his face.
"We're going to the police station," Headmaster Hedges snapped, his face pale with rage. "As long as I'm here, no one is going to falsely accuse my student! We must clear Leo's name!"
The other academics chimed in. "Exactly, Harrison. Take them straight to the police. We can't let Leo suffer this injustice."
"To think they'd beat such a young child. Even a monster wouldn't be so cruel."
"Hold on, who is he anyway? What gives him the right to punish you?" one of the professors, completely out of the loop, asked.
Leo replied, "Mr. Zimmerman, he's my ex-father."
The crowd stared in utter bewilderment.
What on earth was an ex-father?
"When a husband and wife get divorced, they become ex-husbands and ex-wives," Leo explained matter-of-factly. "So, naturally, he became my ex-father. I live with my mom."
Realization dawned on them. Knowing that Xavier was his biological father only fueled their outrage.
Professor Banks glared at Xavier. "Mr. Sterling, let's go. We're taking a trip to the police station. We are getting to the bottom of this for Leo."
Hunter was terrified by the escalating situation. Even though they were just a bunch of old people, they looked incredibly fierce.
Their commanding presence was so overwhelming that they were even lecturing his dad.
Plus, Leo had video evidence. If they went to the police station, Hunter knew he wouldn't be coming back.
He didn't want to go to the police station.
He didn't want to go to jail.
"Waaah!"
Hunter completely broke down. He thought they were all bad people ganging up on him to protect Leo, but he didn't dare say it out loud.
