Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 354

Eleanor had specifically worn her absolute most expensive piece of jewelry to show off for the holiday visit, and now she had completely lost it to Summer at a card table.

When she threw it into the pot, she had firmly believed that whether Ethan or Lilith won, they would inevitably hand the bracelet right back to her.

And if she won the entire pot herself, that was obviously the best-case scenario.

From the very beginning, it had never once crossed her mind that Summer would completely obliterate the table and claim it all.

Summer examined the heavy piece of jewelry, then smoothly slipped it onto her own wrist. She deliberately flashed it right in Eleanor's furious face. "Aunt Eleanor, this actually fits me perfectly. Thanks for the gift."

Eleanor's face looked absolutely sickly. She forced a stiff, agonizingly fake smile. "Summer, honey, that bracelet was actually a romantic token from your uncle when we first started dating. Why don't you hand it back, and I'll buy you something entirely brand new to replace it?"

Summer dramatically raised her voice. "Oh! Are you trying to back out of a bet, Aunt Eleanor?"

As the elder of the family, being so brutally and publicly humiliated by the younger generation was completely unacceptable. Eleanor's face burned crimson with sheer, mortifying embarrassment.

Lilith quickly interjected. "Summer, it's her romantic keepsake. Just give it back to her."

Summer wasn't an idiot. This was her hard-won prize of war.

Besides, she had zero genuine familial ties to the Suttons. Why the hell would she care about their feelings?

If she tossed this entire haul onto the luxury resale market, she'd effortlessly pocket hundreds of thousands of dollars.

She could dump the cash straight into an orphanage—a flawless PR move that would buy her phenomenal goodwill and humiliate the Suttons at the same time. It was an absolute win-win.

Summer completely ignored the demand. Instead, she stared directly at Lilith and asked coldly, "Is your stomach magically cured now?"

As she spoke, she scooped up the keys to Lilith's luxury sports car, casually spinning the keychain on her finger. "Do you still have personal items in the car? Should I send a maid out to pack up your garbage for you?"

"No," Lilith hissed, her voice dripping with venom. "Whatever is inside is trash now. Throw it out."

"Perfect."

Summer didn't waste another breath on them. She walked off to wash her hands, then casually strolled over and plucked a cluster of premium grapes straight from Lilith's personal fruit platter. She settled gracefully into a chair and began eating them one by one.

Lilith stared in horror at the ravaged fruit platter, and then at Summer.

Those were the exact grapes Xavier had meticulously washed specifically for her!

That vicious bitch had no right to eat them!

Lilith was grinding her teeth so hard they were on the verge of cracking. She fought violently to maintain a fragile smile. "Summer, Xavier washed those specifically for me. I'm pregnant."

Summer obviously knew that. In fact, that was exactly why she chose them.

Because Xavier had personally prepared them for Lilith, they were guaranteed to be completely poison-free.

She was highly paranoid that the rest of the household food had been lethally tampered with, but anything safe for the pregnant golden child was safe for her to consume.

So, Summer feigned an expression of absolute, theatrical shock. "Seriously, Lilith? Over a tiny handful of grapes? You can't honestly be this unbelievably petty, right?"

Lilith's eyes flared violently red with unadulterated fury.
