Miles's punch sent Xavier stumbling backward. Since Xavier was holding Lilith's hand, she nearly lost her balance and fell.
Completely enraged, Xavier barked, "Miles, are you out of your mind?"
His answer was another brutal punch.
Xavier's bodyguards moved to intervene but were immediately blocked by Miles's men, turning the corridor into a chaotic brawl.
Xavier shoved Lilith aside to keep her out of the crossfire before launching himself at Miles.
Miles's hands locked tightly around Xavier's throat, while Xavier pinned Miles down, raining blow after blow onto his face.
One was turning purple, choking for air, while the other's face was a bruised, bloody mess.
Ultimately, hospital security rushed in and forcefully dragged the two men apart.
Both men were battered, sporting black eyes and bleeding split lips. Panting heavily, they glared at each other like rabid wolves, ready to lunge and end the other's life at a moment's notice.
Eventually, Lilith dragged Xavier away to get his wounds treated. Miles stayed behind to keep Summer company, and shortly after, the police arrived.
Xavier had called the cops.
Watching the officers enter the hospital room, Summer looked at Miles with deep concern.
Not wanting to worry her, Miles forced a relaxed smile. "It's fine. Don't worry about me. I've already called my lawyer. Just focus on Leo and make sure you get some rest. Leo will be okay. As soon as I'm out, I'll find him the best doctors in the world."
It was just a fistfight, and since Xavier had thrown punches too, it was classified as mutual combat. With a lawyer present, it wouldn't be a major issue.
Summer was far more worried about Leo, so she nodded. "Have your lawyer call me if anything comes up."
The sight of Miles being escorted away by the police was caught on camera by reporters and plastered all over the internet. The public uproar severely impacted Sutton Heights Capital's reputation, tanking their stock prices.
The shareholders were furious with Miles. Shortly after, Misty Lane went public, falsely accusing Miles of assault.
But that was a storm for later.
An hour later, Silas Sinclair rushed into the hospital, looking travel-worn.
"Summer."
"Silas, what are you doing here?"
Silas strode into the hospital room. He first checked on Leo, who was still unconscious after surgery, before turning his gaze to Summer.
Summer looked utterly exhausted, her eyes red and swollen. Silas's deep gaze softened with profound heartache and worry.
"I saw the news about Miles fighting Xavier and found out Leo was in the hospital. How is he?"
Summer tucked the blankets around Leo, stepped out of the room, and walked into the small adjoining lounge.
She reached out to pour Silas a cup of tea, but he gently pressed his hand over hers. "I'll do it. You sit down."
