Xavier felt a flicker of regret, but he took it in stride. Ironically, his assistant Paige Brooks seemed far more bothered by the miss.
She couldn't stand seeing Xavier lose to Summer.
She hated watching him get mocked and ridiculed.
Xavier gracefully conceded defeat.
Vivian immediately went into full attack mode. "Does your pride sting, Mr. Sterling? If not, want to go another round? My girl hasn't even warmed up yet."
Summer simply offered a light, breezy smile, her expression brimming with effortless confidence.
Even if they kept playing, she knew without a doubt she would win.
Watching her, Xavier realized Summer had fundamentally changed.
In the past, she had been trapped between the exhausting demands of the company and his family.
Even though she had always been driven, years of endless overtime, constant bullying from Zelda Sterling, and a suffocating domestic life had taken a heavy toll.
Both her mind and body used to be completely drained.
Now, free from those chains, she was finally living for herself.
She had risen from the ashes, vibrant and unstoppable.
Knowing the Wilson connection was entirely burned, Xavier saw no point in wasting any more time.
He formally excused himself to leave.
Vivian threw one last jab. "Let's do this again when we get back to the country, Mr. Sterling."
Xavier gave a gentlemanly nod. "Of course."
Xavier tapped into his other connections, and Wilson was immediately notified.
At that moment, the group was enjoying lunch.
Wilson asked Julian how he wanted to handle the situation—whether to stall the psychiatric evaluation paperwork or process it normally.
Julian casually sliced a piece of steak for Vivian. "Ask my wife. I do whatever she says."
Vivian looked at Summer.
Summer dabbed the corners of her mouth, set down her napkin, and said smoothly, "Expedite it for him."
Vivian looked confused. "?"
"There's nothing wrong with Lilith," Summer explained. "If we drag this out, Xavier will escalate it to the embassy. If this blows up, it might negatively impact Mr. Wilson. He's already done us a massive favor; we shouldn't drag him into a diplomatic mess."
"Besides, what he applied for is Lydia's psychiatric evaluation. A formal psychiatric record issued directly by the local authorities will carry a lot of weight, even if some circles back home try to dispute it."

Two days later, Lydia and Lilith were released.
