Summer stepped around him.
But when she moved left, Xavier moved left. When she moved right, Xavier took a long stride with his legs and blocked her right side.
Summer finally stopped and looked up at him. "What do you want?"
Xavier lowered his eyelids. His gaze was dark and murky, like a pool of stagnant water. "Did you leak my information?"
All day long, Xavier had been harassed by all sorts of phone numbers.
Domestic and international, selling Viagra, treating men's issues, matchmaking, looking for sugar babies, recruiting male escorts...
On top of that, there was a relentless bombardment of text messages.
In the end, he had no choice but to turn off his phone.
The world was finally peaceful again.
And as for who could pull off something like this, he couldn't think of a second person besides Summer.
Summer feigned absolute innocence. "I have no idea what you're talking about. Get out of my way!"
"That's fine. Once we have a nice, long chat, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about." As he spoke, Xavier grabbed Summer's hand.
"Let go!"
Summer's bodyguards immediately stepped forward.
Xavier's bodyguards were no pushovers either, and the two sides instantly broke into a scuffle.
Xavier dragged Summer into the adjacent private room and locked the door behind them.
With a dizzying spin, Summer found herself pinned against the wall next to the door by Xavier.
Damn it, it was this godforsaken position again!
Summer snapped, "Xavier, what the hell is wrong with you?"
The lights in the private room were off. Only a faint glimmer of city lights filtered in through the window, casting Xavier's entire face in shadow.
"Summer, we still haven't settled our previous score, and you dare to provoke me again! You brought this upon yourself."
Summer suspected that Xavier had suffered too much trauma, suffered a mental breakdown, and gone completely insane.
Realizing she couldn't break free, Summer gave up struggling to save her energy.
She leaned casually against the wall, looked up at Xavier, and asked, "Xavier, do you realize how suggestive this position is right now? Please don't tell me you suddenly realized you've fallen in love with me, that you regret everything and want to get back together. I think you're filthy, and I really don't want to throw up."
But Xavier asked a completely unrelated question, "Summer, do you know Zane Brooks?"
Summer frowned. She didn't know him, but why should she answer Xavier?
"Why should I tell you?"
"Summer," Xavier's hand gripped Summer's jaw forcefully. "You'd better tell me."
Xavier's grip was incredibly strong, as if he wanted to crush her jaw.
Summer said angrily, "So what if I do, and so what if I don't?"
"Sum-mer!" Xavier ground his teeth, looking as though he hated her to the core.
Summer scoffed. "I know him. My new dog is named Zane Brooks."
Anyone could tell she was just spouting nonsense on purpose.
Xavier's voice turned sinister. "Summer, if you don't start talking properly, I'm going to kiss you to death. Didn't you say I was filthy? Don't you hate it when I touch you?"
Summer snapped back, "I don't know him. Happy now? Let me go!"
