Hearing this, Bennett breathed a visible sigh of relief. "What do you want? A house, a car, jewelry? Name it, and I'll buy it for you."
Smiling, Summer playfully wagged her finger. "Just hand over the two companies I'm currently managing."
The moment she said that, Lilith lost it completely. "What a colossal appetite! Demanding two entire companies right off the bat! Why don't you just rob a bank?!"
"At this point, I seriously suspect you orchestrated this entire ambush against Zenith Tech yourself! You planned this all along!!"
Bennett hadn't initially considered that possibility, but Lilith's accusations planted a seed of doubt in his mind.
Could Summer really be the mastermind?
Summer's eyes brimmed with mockery. "You really are a master of deflecting blame, Lilith. Zenith Tech is getting slaughtered entirely because of you."
"You humiliated Xavier by cheating on him and dragged the Sterling family's name through the mud time and time again. Did you honestly think they'd just let that slide and let you live peacefully?"
"You're the one deflecting!" Lilith screamed. "You're spitting venom! Everyone knows how close you are with Silas Sinclair and Xander Sterling! Xander even handed his shares over to Leo!"
Summer shrugged indifferently. "Believe whatever you want. Those two companies weren't turning a profit anyway, which is exactly why Dad pawned them off on me to manage in the first place."
"If you really think it was me, then so be it. I have things to do, so I won't see you out."
Summer looked down, organizing the documents on her desk, completely ignoring the two of them.
Her assistant stepped forward to escort them out. "This way, please."
Bennett stared at Summer, completely torn.
If he left the situation alone, Zenith Tech would undoubtedly go bankrupt—and fast. The collapse would be swift and brutal.
After all, with both the Sterling and Sinclair families launching a joint attack, any company with half a brain would steer completely clear of them.
Besides Summer, absolutely no one would extend a lifeline to Zenith Tech.
He had built Zenith Tech from the ground up. He had poured years of sweat and blood into it to finally achieve its current scale.
While it wasn't a massive corporate titan, it still held significant prestige in the industry.
It was basically his own flesh and blood.
Trading two virtually unprofitable companies for the survival of Zenith Tech was a bargain.
Taking a deep breath, Bennett forced a smile. "Of course I believe you, Summer. I agree to your terms. Starlight Media and the pharmaceutical company are yours."
"Dad!!!" Lilith shrieked at the top of her lungs. "How could you just hand them over to her?!"
He gave her a dead, icy glare. "Unless you have a brilliant plan to magically resolve this crisis?"
Lilith instantly shut her mouth.
If she had a solution, she wouldn't have dragged him down here to beg Summer in the first place.
But he still shouldn't have given both companies to her!
