Xavier didn't even spare her a glance. "Go ahead and sue, then."
Lilith gritted her teeth in rage. "I. Won't. Divorce. You!"
Xavier shot her a freezing glare, his voice cold enough to ice over hell itself. "That's not up to you."
Lilith threatened furiously, "Don't you believe I'll blow this out of proportion? I'll make a scene for everyone to see!!"
"Make a scene, then," Xavier's gaze was dead and chilling.
That single look sent a shudder down Lilith's spine. Xavier had never looked at her with such deadly intent before.
Whenever Xavier looked at someone like that, it meant absolute ruin for them. She had seen it with her own eyes—with a single sentence, Xavier could bankrupt an entire corporation.
Lilith gradually forced herself to calm down. The divorce was inevitable; she couldn't stop it.
But she refused to walk away with nothing.
She had been with Xavier for so many years. There was no way she was leaving empty-handed.
Having made up her mind, Lilith said, "I want a divorce settlement."
Xavier let out a harsh scoff. "No. You only deserve to walk away with the clothes on your back."
Lilith shrieked, "Don't push me too far, Xavier!"
Xavier continued to stare at her coldly, as if looking at a deranged stranger.
Lilith took a deep breath, then flashed a malicious smirk. "Fine. If you won't give me a settlement, I'll go home and destroy that necklace you gave me."
The necklace Summer had made from a carved pit!
Xavier's expression twisted sharply. "Don't you dare, Lilith!"
Lilith laughed wickedly. "You forced my hand. I just want a little divorce settlement, that's all! A small sum of money like that is nothing to Mr. Sterling, right?"
Thinking of the necklace, Xavier clenched his jaw tightly and nodded. "Fine. You'll get it."
Lilith opened her mouth wide and demanded two billion dollars.
She had initially wanted shares in the company, but she was terrified the Sterlings would target the business, driving it into bankruptcy and rendering the shares worthless.
A trashy necklace was clearly so precious to Xavier that he agreed to the ridiculous sum immediately.
