Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 546

Xavier was furious; the punch had been thrown with such force that Silas could literally feel the wind brush across his face.

Had the officer not intervened, the blow would have definitely shattered his nose.

And if any of his blood had accidentally splattered into Xavier's eyes, that scumbag might have had to taste the misery of taking HIV prevention pills.

Silas thought with a hint of cynical regret that it was truly a shame.

"Let go of me!" Xavier glared furiously at Silas.

The officer didn't dare release him; neither man was someone the department could afford to offend. "Sir, you need to calm down. You're in front of a police station."

Silas stared blankly at Xavier, who was acting like a rabid dog, before shifting his gaze to the chief and offering a polite nod. "Thank you for your hard work."

Chief Logan quickly nodded back. "Don't worry about a thing."

Silas turned and walked away.

Once he left the station, Silas dialed his assistant. "Put the word out. Anyone who dares to represent Bennett as his defense attorney will answer to me."

After Silas departed, Xavier also made his exit.

He made a similar call to his own assistant, declaring that any lawyer defending Bennett would be making a permanent enemy of the Sterling family.

Then, he called Wesley. "Wesley, do you know any good psychiatrists?"

Wesley sounded surprised. "Why is everyone suddenly asking me for psychiatrists? Did something happen?"

"Who else asked?" Xavier demanded.

"Summer," Wesley replied.

Xavier's lips curved into a faint smile. "Then make sure you find her the absolute best."

Curious, Wesley asked, "What do you both need a shrink for, anyway?"

"To help Summer claim the justice she's been denied for years."

Lydia had completely lost her grip on reality, leaving the police unable to extract any useful information. Even if they did, the ravings of an unstable woman wouldn't hold up in court.
