Finally, a coworker spoke up. "Summer, you and Jude have a five-year-old child together? Let me do the math on Jude's first time... He's 20 now, and Leo is 5."
Everyone collectively gasped and gave Summer a thumbs-up.
"Summer, you're unbelievable. You even managed to bag a middle schooler."
Summer didn't quite follow, but she could vaguely guess what happened. She looked at Jude in confusion.
Jude chuckled helplessly. "What are you guys thinking? Leo is my godson. Godson, understand? Summer is just my colleague. There's nothing going on between us. Leo's actual father is someone else."
Gavin was surprised. "When did you make Leo your godson?"
Jude replied as if it were the most natural thing in the world, "Today. From now on, Leo is my kid. He goes by Leo Montgomery."
Summer was completely speechless.
Good lord, she looked away for five minutes, and her son's last name had already been changed.
No wonder Gavin said their mentor couldn't handle him and had dumped the headache onto Gavin.
Meanwhile, as soon as Julian returned to his private dining room, he started texting Xavier.
He had a private group chat with Xavier, Lily, and Miles.
In the past, whenever Xavier texted them, he would delete the chat immediately so Summer wouldn't find out.
So Summer never knew it existed.
Julian: [Xavier, it's absolutely insane. Guess who I just ran into?]
Lily used Xavier's phone to reply with a voice memo: [Summer?]
Julian: [Yeah. And that blond toy boy you mentioned. The guy actually claimed Leo was his son and called him Leo Montgomery! She completely changed Leo's last name. Summer is completely out of control.]
Lily continued: [How did you run into her?]
Lily, wearing a matching set of loungewear in a different color from Xavier's, leaned against the kitchen counter, watching him cook with an apron on.
"Xavier, what do you think?"
"It doesn't matter," Xavier replied in an indifferent tone.
He picked up a piece of meat, blew on it, and gently fed it to Lily, warning softly, "Careful, it's hot."
"Mm," Lily closed her eyes, her mood lifting immensely. "Delicious."
Lily replied in the chat: [Alright, let's drop it. We're about to eat.]
Miles asked with concern: [Eating this late?]
Lily sent a blissfully happy voice memo: [Xavier says since I'm pregnant, I should avoid eating takeout because it's unhealthy. He's cooking for me himself.]
