Chapter 142
After finishing up in the poultry area, Dora made her way to the planting area.

The Starvein blueberry Tree stood tall and vibrant, its leaves unfurled, and the six berries on its branches looked even glossier and more translucent than yesterday.
The crystal ore around the roots was emitting a soft blue light, which the tree’s delicate roots were slowly drawing in.
“Keep growing strong,” Dora encouraged, adding a few more pieces of ore around the roots. “Don’t worry. you’ll have all the crystal ore you want from now on.”
The blueberry tree’s branches and leaves swayed gently, as if it was answering her.
Next to it, the regular blueberry saplings were thriving too, their tender green leaves glowing softly in the gentle light of the Spatial Realm.
Dora checked each one carefully and saw that the little berries on the branches were visibly plumping up.
The branches were heavy with clusters of berries, it looked like she’d be able to taste some fresh blueberries in no time.
The agave plants and waterproof vines had taken root by the stream. Their leaves were much thicker than when she first planted them, and the vines were already starting to climb along the bank.
Dora checked them over, confirmed they were adapting well, and stopped worrying.
“At this rate, I’ll be able to harvest a batch soon.
“Once the wet season hits, these things will be in high demand. Time to rake in another big profit,” Dora said, nodding in satisfaction.
The sandy soil was lush and vibrant, with sweet potato and peanut vines sprawling across the rows. The tomato plants were loaded with ripe red fruit, while cucumber and melon vines climbed up the trellises.
The leafy greens in the black soil were thriving as well. Dora carefully harvested all the ripe fruits and vegetables from both plots and stored them in the stasis space.
Finally, Dora made her way to the edge of the sandy soil, where a patch of freshly tilled soil lay.
She crouched down and took a closer look.
Tiny green shoots had already sprouted from the surface.
Not all of them, but at least a third had already emerged from the soil.
Their tender green tips, still carrying bits of earth, were determinedly pushing upward, breaking through with stubbom energy.
“They’re alive!” Dora’s eyes lit up.
She carefully poured some essence spring water over them, watching as the little shoots greedily soaked up

The mutated alien beast corpses were still lined up neatly. She picked out a few that didn’t fetch much in th interstellar market, planning to list them on the Barter System later.
Dora had been so busy lately that she hadn’t even glanced at the Barter System. She’d saved up ten spins in the lottery section, enough for a ten-pull spin.
Dora rubbed her hands together, thinking to herself, ‘I wonder what kind of jackpot I’ll hit with this ten-pull
Feeling a rush of excitement, Dora pressed the ten-pull button. The wheel spun like crazy, and after three or four seconds, the prizes started popping up one after another.
1. 50 bags of pasta.
2.30 cases of canned meat.
3. 100 cases of instant noodles.
4. 30 bags of flour.
5. 50 cases of eggs.
6. A box of mixed hatching eggs: 10 hatching chicken eggs, 10 hatching duck eggs, and 10 hatching goose eggs.
When Dora saw this, her eyes lit up. ‘My golden finger never lets me down, it always knows exactly what I need,’ she thought.
7. 20 cases of survival biscuits.
8. A fancy purple box, marked as the Surprise Grand Prize.
9. 80 cases of ham sausages.
10. 100 cases of self-heating spaghetti.
Everything was just what Dora needed. She collected her prizes one after another, and in an instant, the snack section of the stasis space was packed to the brim with treats.
Dora picked up the fancy little box marked “Surprise Grand Prize.”
As soon as she opened it, a dazzling burst of light shot out.
Inside was a crystal ore, deep blue and sparkling with pure brilliance.
Just a glance told Dora this crystal ore was definitely high-level.
She couldn’t help but reach out and touch it, feeling the overwhelming surge of energy pulsing beneath her fingertips.

Her gaze was drawn to the golden text on the inside of the box lid.
It read: Pinnacle Level 7 Ice-Type crystal ore.
‘Damn, this really is the surprise grand prize!’ Dora thought, feeling a rush of excitement.

Dora recalled Clive explaining that just because a mutated alien beast was high-level, it didn’t mean the crystal ore drop rate was any better.
Before Dora showed up, their chances of getting a crystal ore from a mutated alien beast were only a few percent.
Even with the high-level mutated alien beasts, the odds stayed the same. The fact they’d managed to snag so many crystal ores above Level 6 was pretty incredible.
Dora remembered the Level 7 mutated alien beast they ran into back in Zone 32.
That thing had intelligence now, made it way harder to hunt.
A Pinnacle Level 7 crystal ore like this? Even the top interstellar clans might not even have one lying around.
Dora carefully placed the rare Pinnacle Level 7 crystal ore into her collection, making sure it was safely stashed away with the rest of her crystal ores.
Dora carried the box of hatching eggs to the poultry area, took out the old eggs from the incubator, and swapped them for the fresh ones.
She set the new box of eggs inside.
“This time, I’m definitely going to hatch some chicks, ducklings, and goslings,’ Dora thought, her excitement bubbling up.
After finishing up, Dora finally withdrew from the Spatial Realm, feeling completely satisfied.
Lying in bed, staring up at the ceiling, Dora suddenly remembered the thoughtful look on Rafe’s face during dinner and couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
’25 points… I wonder how he’s going to rack up enough points?’ Dora mused.
She rolled over, pulled the blanket tighter around herself, and noticed the Level 3 light gold crystal ore lying next to her pillow.
She reached out, cupped it in her hand, closed her eyes, and continued absorbing its energy.
Dora realized that absorbing crystal ores was much safer for her than for males, even when she was asleep, it posed no risk.
Gradually, sleepiness washed over her.

Downstairs, Lioren had already changed into his night ops gear. His cat ears stood straight up, twitching with alertness, and his amber eyes gleamed with a fierce, determined look, he was absolutely set on getting what he wanted.
In the room next door, Clive was propped up against the headboard, staring up at the ceiling with those eyes.
Remembering how Dora backed the Blackflame Trading Guild, the ghost of a smile played at his lips.
In the next room over, Elmer hugged his pillow, giving the door his best puppy eyes, wondering if he should sneak over to Dora’s room.
In the study, Rafe was working fast on his Optical Brain, pulling up the details of his secret accounts.
“I’ll start by giving Dory the high-level crystal ores I’ve been saving,” he muttered to himself.
“But that probably won’t be enough…
“Whatever, I’ve still got a whole year. I’ll definitely rack up enough points.
In the study, Lucian was still poring over the starship blueprints, his pale golden eyes occasionally lifting to glance toward the stairs.
Seven was quietly recharging in the kitchen, its screen displaying a cute crescent moon as it pretended to sleep.

Outside, a light rain laced with heavy pollutants tapped gently against the protective shield, while the crackling and thudding noises of mutant bugs and beasts crashing into it came one after another.
Inside, the room was quiet, with only the soft hum of the air circulation system.
Dora lay on the bed, her breathing steady, a faint smile lingering at the corners of her lips.
What she didn’t know was that after she fell asleep, the Level 3 crystal ore she had absorbed was undergoing subtle changes within her Spatial Realm.
In her dream, she saw a clearing wrapped in a thin veil of mist, the haze shimmering with a soft golden glow.
She walked into the mist, and the view ahead slowly sharpened.
She stopped in her tracks.
There was a small courtyard.
It wasn’t big, but it was delicate and beautiful.
In the center stood a tall crabapple tree, its branches heavy with pink and white blossoms. Whenever the wind blew, petals drifted down, carpeting the ground in a soft layer of color.
Under the tree was a stone table and a few chairs.
On the table was a blue-and-white coffee set, with steam rising in delicate wisps.
Behind it was a small wooden cabin, its door half-open, so you could just make out a bed and bookshelf inside.
‘Is this… my new space?’ Dora wondered.
She took a tentative step into the courtyard.
She stepped onto the bluestone slabs, and it felt real beneath her feet.
Crabapple blossoms drifted down onto her shoulders, carrying a faint, sweet scent.
She walked up to the stone table and brushed her fingertips across its surface. It touch, unmistakably real.
What on earth is this…?’ Dora thought to herself.
She glanced toward the corner of the stone table.
There, she saw an hourglass and a timer sitting side by side.

The hourglass was frozen, its golden sand completely motionless. The timer’s screen showed a single number,

‘Wait, did it just change to twelve minutes?’ Dora thought, surprised.
She picked up the timer, turning it over and over in her hands, inspecting it from every angle.
The screen only showed that number, no buttons, no settings, nothing else.

She glanced back at the hourglass. It looked like any ordinary hourglass, except the sand inside was golden, the same color as the mist she’d seen earlier.
“Twelve minutes… Does that mean I can only stay here for twelve minutes? Or is something going to happen when the time’s up?’ Dora wondered to herself.
She tried turning the hourglass upside down.
But the golden sand didn’t move at all, not the way she thought it would.
She turned it back and put it down where it was.
She noticed the number on the timer was changing again.
13:00……14:00……15:00……
Dora stared at the number. ‘Is it just going to keep going up?’ she wondered.
‘Could this be related to the crystal ore I absorbed?’ Dora thought.
Dora took in her surroundings, her gaze lingering on the small wooden cabin.
At last, she settled onto the recliner beside the stone table. A soft breeze swept through, sending petals raining down around her. ‘It’s so beautiful…’ Dora thought to herself.

At that moment, the slightest sound of footsteps could be heard from the stairs leading up to the third floor.
Lioren’s custom stealth suit was designed to absorb all sounds and scents.
He was confident that no one would detect him, not even that annoying snake.
Lioren moved stealthily up to the third floor in a feline manner, his silver cat ears twitching in the darkness, and his amber eyes shining with a subtle glow.
“This time, I have to beat that stinky snake Clive to it, Lioren thought to himself.
With that thought, his steps grew even lighter.
As he turned the corner at the top of the stairs, the third-floor hallway came into view.
As Lioren stepped onto the last stair, he spotted a fluffy white figure curled up right in front of Dora’s door.

Its ears stood straight up, and a pair of pale brown puppy eyes gleamed in the darkness, fixing Lioren with a unwavering gaze.
Lioren froze in place.
Elmer had his front paws crossed, chin resting on them, looking like he was determined to stand guard and not budge an inch.
Those puppy eyes were saying loud and clear, ‘I knew someone wouldn’t behave. Sneaking in at midnight, huh? Not a chance.’
Lioren’s expression soured for a moment.
He stood in the hallway, staring at Elmer, who stared right back. The two of them locked eyes in the darkness neither backing down.
One second.
Two seconds.
Three seconds.
Lioren glared at Elmer, his cat ears flattened in displeasure, and his tail flicked in annoyance.
The two stood three meters apart, staring each other down in silence for a full thirty seconds.
Finally, Lioren snorted coldly and turned to go downstairs.
His footsteps were noticeably heavier than before, frustration written all over him.
Elmer watched him vanish at the stairway, gave a small, contented yawn, and rested his chin back on his paws.
His pale brown eyes were half-lidded, fixed on the stairway to the third floor, keeping his vigil.
His ears twitched as he recalled Lioren’s fluffy silver cat ears and that tail he always left out in the open.
‘Dora really has a thing for those ears, doesn’t she?’ Elmer mused.
Every time she saw Lioren’s ears twitch, her eyes would light up.
Elmer blinked.
A thought quietly popped into his head.
Early morning, the steady drizzle kept tapping against the protective shield, filling the air with a soft, persistent rustle.
Dora woke up from a sweet dream.
She glanced at the crystal ore in her hand, it had already lost its luster.
