Chapter 163
[Rafe: Brilliant! The Shawn family will believe their plan worked and drop their guard.]
[Clive: Then we can follow the trail and figure out who’s really behind all this.]

[Elmer: But won’t this hit the Blackflame Trading Guild pretty hard? And I bet they’re hoping their own military can nab the fake Boss Clive themselves.]
[Clive: It’s fine. I’ll give everyone some time off. The guys could use a break anyway.]
[Lucian: I’ve been investigating the smuggling case anyway. As a military commander, a surprise raid is totally justified.
[It’ll catch the Shawn family off guard and make the whole thing look even more convincing.]
[Dora: Alright, that’s the plan!
[Lucian, bring your crew. We’ll coordinate inside and out.]
[Lioren: What if the fake confesses right then and there?]
[Lucian: I won’t let him get a word out.]
[Elmer: Lucian, you’re such a badass!]
Dora glanced at the group chat, a small smirk appearing on her lips.
She put away her Optical Brain, hugged Lioren, and headed over to Clive.
Clive noticed her coming and slipped the pendant back into his pocket.
Dora walked up beside him and looked up at him.
“What’s wrong?” Dora asked softly. “Who was that just now?”
Clive fell silent for a moment.
“The head of the Dragon Abyss Clan,” he said. “He told me… I might be the child left behind by a friend of his.”
Dora froze, completely caught off guard
Lioren was snuggled in her arms, his cat ears standing straight up.
A friend of the Dragon Abyss Clan’s head? Dora thought. her mind racing.
Everyone knew that after the Dragon Clan was wiped out, the Dragon Abyss Clan preity inch disappeared from the world.

“He gave me this,” Clive said, taking out the pendant. “He told me to drop by whenever I get a chance, and he’ll tell me about my parents.”
Dora looked at the pendant, then at Clive’s troubled look, and suddenly broke into a smile.
She reached out and held his hand.
“No matter who you are,” she said softly, “you’re always my alpha beast mate.
“That’ll never change.”
Clive looked down at her, the complicated emotions in his eyes slowly melting away, leaving only tenderness.
“Yeah,” he murmured.
Lioren, nestled in their arms, glanced from one to the other, his tail flicking lightly.
‘Hmph,’ he thought.
‘Fine, I’ll let it go this time. He’s had a tough life, after all.’
Just then, Dora suddenly sensed something strange in the air.
It was damp and clammy, with a faint whiff of something rotten lingering around.
She stopped in her tracks.
Lioren’s cat ears pricked up, and a glint of alertness sharpened his amber eyes.
“Dora,” he whispered, “the air’s not right.”
Dora took a deep breath, and sure enough, she felt a faint burning sensation in her nose.
This wasn’t what one’d expect from the usual pollution levels during the wet season.
She glanced toward the hall and saw several guests already frowning, coughing, and covering their mouths and noses with handkerchiefs.
“Wet season pollution and mutated parasites…” Dora murmured. “Are they here already?”
Lioren’s tail stiffened. “Did the Shawn family’s protective barrier fail?”
“With this level of contamination…” Dora’s eyes flashed coldly. “Someone deliberately released it.
She hurried back to the main hall and saw that plenty of guests were already looking uncomfortable. A few
elderly socialites, faces pale as ghosts, were being helped to their seats by their attendants,
Some guests with weaker supernatural abilities had started sneezing and their eyes were watering.
But nobody left.

Chapter 163
The highlight of the night hadn’t even started yet.
The “mutated blueberry tree” still hadn’t been brought out.

Regina stood on stage, her face adorned with a graceful smile, seemingly unfazed by the commotion below
She gave a few polite claps, signaling everyone to settle down.
She said, “Thank you all for braving the rain to be here tonight.
“The main event is about to kick off.”
She paused, her gaze sweeping across the crowd and lingering on Dora for a second, a meaningful smirk curling at her lips.
She said, “The rare mutated blueberry tree the Shawn family brought back from Zone 32 is about to be unveiled to everyone.”
Applause followed, though it was mixed with some suppressed coughs.
Dora, holding Lioren in her arms, moved to stand beside her beast mates.
Clive, Rafe, and Elmer had already gathered around her, forming a protective circle.
Mindy and Felix also came over, both looking wary.
“Dora,” Mindy whispered, “the air’s not right…”
“I know,” Dora nodded. “But the show’s not over yet. We have to stick around till it’s finished.”
Dora looked up at the “blueberry tree” covered in fabric on stage, a subtle smirk appearing on her lips.
“The Shawn family sure is putting on quite the spectacle,’ Dora thought.
The air in the hall was growing heavier with pollutants.
Some guests kept rubbing their eyes, others absently scratched their arms, and a few coughed quietly, trying to suppress the strange itch in their throats.
But nobody left.
Regina stood on the main stage, her gaze sweeping across the hall, taking in every subtle sign of discomfort,
‘It’s time,’ she thought.
She exchanged a glance with Kael, who was standing at the edge of the crowd.
Kael gave a slight nod, then his eyes drifted over to the elders from the Frostveil Planer not far away.
Regina glanced over at Cassian.

Cassian stood by the blueberry tree, his palms slightly sweaty, but his face remained calm.
He gave his mother a nod.
Everything was ready.
Regina took a deep breath, flashed her most poised smile, and her clear voice echoed through the hall.
“Esteemed guests, thank you all for waiting!” she announced.
Regina placed her hand on the fabric.
The hall was utterly silent.
She gave a subtle smile, and with a graceful motion of her wrist, the fabric slipped gracefully to the floor.
In that instant, the entire banquet hall was engulfed in brilliant, blinding light.
Everyone squinted against the glare, and then the hall exploded with deafening cries of astonishment.
The blueberry tree radiated a blinding white light, so intense it was nearly impossible to keep their eyes open
The light burst out from the blueberry tree, instantly engulfing the whole banquet hall.
Everyone was awestruck by the sudden burst of dazzling light.
“Holy crap…”
“What the heck is that…”
“That energy is off the charts!”
The blinding light lingered for about three seconds before finally fading to a softer glow.
But then, something even more incredible happened.
From the blueberry tree, a translucent light barrier began to rise up, expanding outward until it wrapped around the entire banquet hall.
The barrier glowed with delicate golden markings, beautiful like something out of a dream.
As the barrier formed, the air in the banquet hall was suddenly crisp and clear
That nagging itchiness disappeared without a trace.
The coughing died down.
The discomfort on their skin melted away.
Someone took a deep breath and realized with delight that the air was completely clear, no trace of pollutants left.

Chapter 168
“Whoa… what is this?”
“The mutated blueberry tree’s light is keeping all the pollution out!”
“This really is a one-of-a-kind treasure!”
Everyone was buzzing with excitement.
“The Shawn family sure is lucky!”
“You won’t find another treasure like this anywhere in the interstellar world!”
“Cassian’s really something for someone so young, and Regina’s done an amazing job raising him!” The compliments just kept coming.
Regina stood on stage, her face radiant as she basked in the flood of compliments from the crowd.
Cassian stood tall beside the blueberry tree, proudly receiving the envious and awestruck gazes directed his way.
Wendy linked her arm through his, her smile shining brighter than ever.
Cassian’s gaze swept across the hall, pausing for a moment on Dora.
In his eyes, it was clear, “See? This is the true power of the Shawn family.”
