The mission required collecting ten mature ironfrond vines. They were a sperad type of dusting plans

It served as an auxiliary material for crafting defensive weapon parts, and it was ano a breux mera foratsering rock and weaving defensive nets.

The group carefully stepped into this area. The air was thick with the mixed smell of decaying part o Beneath their feet, the ground was soft, wet, and slippery mud. Tall, deformed trees twisted their brauce roots downward.

The thick canopy filtered the light into a deep gloom.

Clive still walked at the very front, but he occasionally slowed his pace to accommodate Dora’s speed.

Elmer chattered away about how to use ironfrond vines to make a defensive outer wall, his light brown eyes tut of museos their future home.

Lioren hopped and darted left and right, still keeping watch on the surroundings.

“Watch your step and overhead. Ironfrond vines usually coil around those half-dead tree trunks, Clive reminded them a low voice. He walked at the very front, and his shadow-type supernatural ability let him perceive changes in light and potential dangers more acutely,

Lioren chose not to move on the ground. Instead, he sprang nimbly through the lower branches, has amber eyes searchlights sweeping the shadowy corners.

Elmer stayed close to Dora’s side. Though his light shield wasn’t deployed yet, a pale brown glow already shuntered inte

Dora kept a vigilant eye on her surroundings while comparing them against the plant guide on her Optical Barkin

Before long, they spotted the target on a massive ancient tree, half dead, while the other half was eenly covered in dack end

Ironfrond vines were as thick as a baby’s arm, in a dull metallic hue with natural spiral patterns on the surface and tharth, cold-gleaming leaf edges.

Dora checked the picture on her Optical Brain and confirmed it was correct “Found it” She turned and signaled to Cave, “Cut carefully. Don’t break too many just take twenty mature stalks Hall is for the masion. We keep the other halt bar

hiss.

Just as Clive’s shadow blade was about to touch the first ironfrond vine, Lioren suddenly let out an extremely sharp warning

Almost at the same time, Clive yanked his hand back and retreated “Watch the ground. Something’s closing in fast

The seemingly calm patch of swamp water covered in thick duckweed to the side and rear of the ancient tree suddenly exploded with a loud splash.

Several massive crocodile-type alien beasts burst out. They were covered in thick mud and tumor-like bumps, with long snouts and sharp teeth. Their scarlet eyes locked on them, especially on a gap in the tree trunk partly hidden by the roots of the ironfrond vine.

Dora followed the mutant swamp crocodiles’ gaze. In that gap, under the dira light, a hazy, white glow was faintly visible. It looked like the finest silk, or solidified moonlight.

She thought, ‘What is that? Clearly, those beasts attacking us aren’t here to protect the ironfrond vines. They’re after whatever is glowing.

“Level-3 Pinnacle. At least five of them. Prepare for battle.” Clive instantly assessed the situation, his voice cold.

The mutant swamp crocodiles weren’t only thick-skinned and monstrously strong. They could move through the swamp like fish in water and spray mud shots with a paralyzing effect. They were extremely troublesome opponents.

The fight erupted in an instant. Five mutant swamp crocodiles, each over thirteen feet long, came roaring in. Their heavy bodies crushed the ground as they surged rward, mud splashing everywhere.

Their division of tasks was clear. Three charged straight at Clive at the front. One attacked Elmer and Dora from the side. And one actually reared upright and swung its thick tail at the branch Lioren was perched on.

“Shield!” Elmer bellowed. His light shield flared open in an instant, blocking the way in front of Dora and taking a brutal head-on collision from the mutant swamp crocodile attacking from the side.

The light shield shuddered violently. Elmer let out a stifled grunt, a trace of blood seeping from the corner of his mouth. but he held his ground.

Clive’s side was even more dangerous. Three mutant swamp crocodiles had him fenced in a triangle. Mud shots, sashing claws, and tail strikes came at him blow after blow.

Clive pushed the eerie elusiveness of his shadow-type supernatural ability and the lightning speed ofhis lighuong t ability to their limits. His figure weaved and flashed between the crocodiles.

Dark shadow blades and crackling lightning left charred marks across the mutant swamp crocodiles thick armor aga neek again, but breaking through in a short time was still difficult.

The moment the branch was swept out from under him. Lioren sprang up nimbly. He twisted his body midair and seal several wind blades slicing at the eyes of the mutant swamp crocodile trying to ambush him, forcing it to shat its ey pull back for the moment

But the splattering mud had left Lioren rather bedraggled. His fur was soaked, and his movements were somewhat hampered.

Dora’s mind raced with urgency. She knew they couldn’t keep this up.

The mutant swamp crocodiles had the terrain advantage and greater numbers, and they were all level 8 Punale beasts
