With her hair still damp, he switched off the hairdryer, set it aside, and turned off the main light, leaving only the soft glow from the bedside lamp.
Damian took her hand.
“Maybe you should go shower first…” She pulled her hand back gently, trying to create some space between herself and the man currently positioned between her knees.
“Later…”
He seemed impatient, his thumb and forefinger lifting her chin, his fingertips brushing over her parted lips.
He leaned in, his gaze fixed on her mouth in the dim light before closing the distance with a soft, insistent kiss.
“Damian…” His name escaped from the corner of her mouth, a breathy whisper.
“Mm, I’m right here…
A low, fragmented murmur was pressed between their lips.
His voice was hoarse, rough with need.
Damian had a particular talent for choosing her lingerie–the nightgown from her closet was whisper–thin and slippery smooth, transmitting every bit of heat from his hands without any barrier.
His touch was fevered, sweeping possessively over every curve and plane of her body.
“You really should go shower now-” Isabelle pushed lightly against his chest.
Damian came back to himself slightly, a note of complaint in his tone. “Who was it that used up all the hot water earlier…”
Isabelle used the moment to scoot further back on the large bed.
Showering together would use even more water–they could easily be in there for over half an
hour…
Who knew what ideas he had in mind.
Damian reached out and gently caught her ankle, drawing her back toward him. Isabelle lost her balance and fell back against the pillows from the momentum.

He leaned over her, bracing his hands on either side of her head, looking down at the woman whose face was now flushed a deep pink.
“If you don’t go now, I’m going to get annoyed.” She pouted, a faint frown creasing her brow.
It was already warm with the early summer heat, and they’d worked up a light sweat during their walk. Now, between the lingering outdoor grime and the new warmth rising between them, she just couldn’t relax.
Damian wasn’t usually like this; no matter how eager, he would always shower first.
He chuckled softly, the sound warm and intimate, his fingers tracing the line of her cheekbone as his mesmerizing voice drifted close to her ear.
“Wait for me…”
She swallowed hard and simply nodded, staying quiet.
While Damian was in the bathroom, a notification chimed on Isabelle’s phone. It was a message from Diana.
It was a picture. When she opened it, she froze for a couple of seconds–this was completely unexpected. She quickly called Diana.
“Are you and Brian… a thing now?” Isabelle’s tone held clear disbelief.
“Isn’t it obvious?” Diana laughed, and Isabelle could hear the rustle of paper in the background. “We’re not getting married or anything, just seeing where it goes. Seize the moment, right? I had Sienna scan and send it to me.”
“It’s just… surprising. How did you suddenly decide this? You’ve never liked feeling tied down.”
“I know, it’s weird for me too. But with Brian, it’s different somehow. I want to try.”
Diana pursed her lips, her gaze drifting toward the kitchen where Brian stood shirtless, casually preparing something to eat.
Isabelle laughed softly over the phone. She knew the so–called agreement wasn’t about restrictions; it was likely just Diana’s way of keeping an exit strategy handy.
Deep down, Diana definitely had feelings for Brian; otherwise, she wouldn’t have given him this chance. And someone as sharp as Brian, with that agreement in his possession–was there any doubt Diana would end up completely charmed by him?
“Just follow your heart, Diana.” Damian had once said something similar to her.

Today, Isabelle found herself passing those same words on to her friend.
Brian was a good man.
After hanging up, Damian finished his shower and stepped out of the bathroom.
He had only a white towel wrapped low around his waist.
Droplets of water still clung to his hair, looking as if he hadn’t used a towel on it at all.

Beads of moisture trailed down his torso, tracing over the defined muscles of his chest and abdomen, following the ridges of his abs, before finally disappearing beneath the edge of the towel.
The corded muscles of his forearms and the veins standing out along his arms looked like winding trails under his skin.
Who would have thought that behind his usual polished, composed exterior, in private he could seem so untamed, so powerfully visceral?
This was practically the textbook image of a devastatingly handsome man fresh from the shower.
Isabelle’s gaze lingered, utterly captivated.
The man lifted his eyes and shot her a knowing, wolfish grin. “You might want to wipe your chin. You’re practically drooling.”
Hearing that, Isabelle snapped back to reality, feeling both flustered and annoyed at herself. How could she let herself get so easily mesmerized by his appearance?
Get a grip.
But there was no denying it–this man’s striking features and athletic build were incredibly pleasing to the eye.
“Narcissist,” Isabelle muttered under her breath, though there was no real heat in it.
“Tch…” Damian let out a soft, dismissive sound, a smirk playing on his lips.
He didn’t call her out further–he knew exactly what she liked, and the awareness gave quiet satisfaction.

Isabelle touched her own cheek; it was burning. Even with the air conditioning set to a cool temperature, she couldn’t seem to shake the inner heat.

Damian’s eyes darkened as he closed the distance between them.
She felt a fresh flutter of nervousness–should she put her phone away now?
It felt like it had been a while since they’d last been intimate.

While she was still caught in that thought, Damian had already plucked the phone from her hand, tapped the screen to sleep, and placed it on the nightstand.
He sat down on the edge of the bed beside her, wrapping a strong arm around her slender waist and pulling her abruptly into his lap.
Isabelle gasped at the sudden movement, her hands flying up to grip his solid shoulders for balance.
Before she could form another thought, Damian had already removed his gold–rimmed glasses–which he sometimes wore at home for reading–set them neatly next to her phone, and captured her lips in a deep, unhurried kiss.
With the lenses gone, the last trace of a scholarly, refined aura vanished completely, replaced by something far more primal and intent.
