“As if you haven’t called in favors behind the scenes yourself? Damian retorted, shooting him a sidelong glance with a dismissive
smirk.
He continued, “Now that you and Diana are officially together, shouldn’t there be a bonus coming my way?”
“What bonus?” Brian feigned utter confusion. Seizing the moment when Dylan entered from the garden, he quickly made his escape.
“Get out of here!” Damian called after him, though there was no real heat in his words.
On the day Damian and Isabelle had gotten together, Brian had received a hefty six–figure bonus from Damian–an unofficial “matchmaker’s fee“.
When Isabelle found Diana, her friend was in the middle of a heated confrontation.
The scene was pure chaos.
Diana’s hair was disheveled, and Sienna was holding her back, trying to prevent her from launching another attack.
A man was sprawled on the floor, looking even worse for wear than Diana.
Three fresh, angry scratches bled on his cheek, and a chunk of his meticulously styled hair had been torn out, making him whimper in pain.
If Sienna hadn’t been restraining her, the man wouldn’t have gotten off so lightly.
Diana still strained against Sienna’s hold, but seeing it was Sienna’s wedding day, she held back–charging forward could turn the beautiful ceremony into a public spectacle.
Sienna’s makeup was flawless, and she wore an exquisite, long–trained wedding gown. Today was supposed to be her perfect day. By the time Isabelle pushed through the gathering crowd, Blaze had already signaled for a couple of event security staff to step in and control the situation.
“What’s going on here?” Isabelle asked, moving to Diana’s side and checking her over for any serious injuries.
Before Diana could catch her breath to explain, the petite, delicate–looking woman clinging to the man on the floor spoke up first, her voice sharp.
“Who is this lunatic? Attacking people out of nowhere!” The woman had a pretty face, but her words were ugly.
Diana let out a cold, derisive snort. “What, you’re trying out new tricks as the ‘other woman‘ now? And we’re just supposed to ignore it?”
The man’s face paled, then flushed with anger and embarrassment. He tried to pull the delicate woman away. “Just leave it. Let’s get out of here.”
“Going where?” Isabelle stepped forward, blocking their path with her arms crossed. “You think you can just hit someone and walk away?”
The man pointed aggressively at his own marred face, thrusting it toward Isabelle. “Take a good look! Who hit who? That’s right–I

ased my face to hit her hand!”
Admittedly, the visual evidence was on his side–his injuries looked more severe.

But Isabelle knew Diana wouldn’t have lashed out without a serious reason. Her friend had been wronged, and there was no way she’d stand by and do nothing.
“What are you so scared of? Everyone saw what happened! She was the one who attacked you! What kind of man acts so cowardly?” The delicate woman couldn’t stand her partner being hurt and then seeming foo timid to even defend himself.
Diana slowly pulled her arm free from Sienna’s calming grip.
“Don’t worry,” she said to Sienna, her jaw tight. “It’s your wedding. I won’t ruin it. But this needs to be settled.
Blaze stood beside Sienna, holding her hand. “Let her handle it,” he said quietly to’kis bride.
Sienna was still worried–concerned Diana might come out of it worse.
Blaze simply gave a reassuring smile. Anyone who was Isabelle’s close friend was undoubtedly tough. When it came to not backing down, these women never gave an inch.
“Move!” Diana said coldly to the delicate woman blocking her path. “Unless you want me to go through you.”
The woman’s eyes widened in fresh outrage. She planted herself more firmly in front of Diana.
“Who gave you the right to lay a hand on my fiancé?!” she shrieked, her tone just as fierce.
A cold smile touched Diana’s lips. She turned to the nearby security staff. “Keep an eye on this man. Don’t let him slip away!”
The guards glanced at Blaze, who gave a slight, confirming nod./
The man panicked, trying to bolt, but two guards swiftly grabbed his arms and held him in place.
Diana pulled out her phone, tapped the screen a few times, and then held it up right in front of the delicate woman’s face.
“Take a good look at your ‘fiancé‘!”
The woman froze. Her face instantly contorted in shock and horror as she stumbled backward two steps.

The picture on the screen was one Diana’s mother had sent her–a photo of a wedding invitation, alongside a snapshot of this very man with her mother, looking intimate.
A ripple of murmurs spread through the onlookers as the realization dawned.
While they didn’t recognize the older woman in the photo, the relationship between this man and the two women–Diana’s mother and the delicate woman before them–was now painfully clear.
The man had been two–timing them both.
