Chapter 300 Family Intervenes
Half an hour later, Ashley was seen rushing out of the room in a state of clear distress and panic.
Anyone seeing the footage would assume the alleged intimacy had, in fact, occurred.
Moreover, this incident had taken place two days ago.
If Damian truly felt wronged, why hadn’t he called, or even sent a single message to explain?
He only seemed to acknowledge the situation after others had exposed it and it could no longer be hidden.
If no one had made it public, would he have simply buried it?
The more Isabelle thought about it, the more her heart shattered.
Her mouth was full of food, and so was her heart with anguish.
Diana reached over and stroked her hair, gently wiping a tear from the corner of her eye.
Isabelle set down her fork, then buried her face in Diana’s shoulder and sobbed openly.
Diana held her awkwardly, patting her back in soft, soothing circles.
She couldn’t even find the right words to offer comfort.

Collin sat beside them. Watching the woman weep uncontrollably, he lost his appetite. He stopped eating, slowly stood up, and walked out, closing the door softly behind him to leave the two women alone.
“Have you made contact with her?” Collin asked Henry in a low/voice outside.
Henry shook his head. “She’s operating on her own. It’s better not to reach out. If they connect us, it could create trouble for you.”
This hadn’t been part of the arrangement between Collin and Ashley.
He had only asked Ashley to detain Damian abroad for a while, nothing more
He had hoped Isabelle would notice him more. He wanted her to know that even if she was with Damian, if she was unhappy or felt trapped, he could be her escape route.
Collin didn’t realize that Isabelle’s reluctance to make her relationship public wasn’t due to a lack of love for Damian, but stemmed from her own cautious career ambitions.
She knew it was unfair to Damian, yet he had agreed anyway, which had inevitably caused complications.
Damian had been frustrated, but he never voiced a complaint.
As for Ashley, finding no way to get close to Damian through normal means, she decided the overt approach was too risky. Damian would reject her mercilessly or find a way to neutralize her, just as he had with Celeste. So, she took a desperate gamble.
Ashley hadn’t consulted Collin about this, which was why things had spiraled out of control.
She was betting everything.
she slept with Damian, would he finally look at her differently?
In reality, he did not.
Not only did Damian not reconsider her, his disgust deepened and his treatment of her worsened. Now he had her confined to a hotel suite under guard.
Even more humiliating was their fear that Ashley might harm herself or do something drastic; bodyguards now stood watch even when she used the bathroom, the door left ajar.
Mr. Dorfman, she’s another man’s wife. They’re not even divorced yet. Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to protect her after a divorce?
The back of Diana’s blouse was soaked through. It felt as if Isabelle had cried out every ounce of fluid in her body.
Just a short while ago, Isabelle had seemed to be calming down, but something must have retriggered the storm of emotion.
Diana held her tightly, her heart aching for her friend.
Who could truly let go so easily when faced with such a betrayal?
Suddenly, she remembered Brian mentioning a sudden business trip in the middle of the night a couple of days ago. Could it be connected to this incident?
They hadn’t been in touch for twe days.
Damn it!
He had kept it from her! He hadn’t said a word!
For the sake of his friend, he had stabbed her in the back!
He really had changed.
Brian, you’ve really become something else.
Before Collin’s additional men could arrive, people from the Cross family appeared first.
Theocore and Louis arrived with two stern–faced security personnel.
“Collin,” Louis greeted the man by the door, his expression unreadable.
Collin offered a faint, perfunctory smile in return.
