Chapter 410 See a Ghost?
Chapter 410 See a Ghost?
Lucas poured himself a glass of water, drank it all in one go, then casually adjusted the towel around his waist before walking out of the kitchen.
He appeared in front of Tier just as she was laughing and holding a skewer of roast meat.
Lynn was startled. In the dim light, a man wearing only a white towel had suddenly appeared. Lucas had fair skin, and aside from his tanned arms, the rest of him looked pale.
Her heart pounded in her chest. She tightened her grip on the skewer, the meat in her mouth now tasteless.
For a moment, she froze completely, which made Lucas smirk.
“See a ghost?” His voice was slightly rough.
His gaze dropped to the strap that had slipped off her shoulder, but he quickly looked away and sat down beside her.
Lynn scooted over, pulling the blanket tighter around herself. Only then did she notice the fallen strap.
She quickly hooked it back into place.
Lucas had already caught a glimpse of the gentle curve beneath her thin sleepwear.
He picked up a piece of roast meat and started eating. “Were you at Damian’s?”
“Yes.” Lynn huddled in the corner, studying him in the faint light. “When did you get back?”
“Not long ago.” He’d thought she might have run off or crashed at a friend’s place.
He hadn’t expected her to still be here.
For a moment, Lucas felt the strange illusion of someone waiting at home for him.
This was merely an illusion, for Lynn had no intention of letting him return so soon.
“You could’ve texted me you were coming back,” Lynn muttered, a little annoyed.
At least then I wouldn’t be this embarrassed. If I’d known he was here, I wouldn’t have dressed so casually.
Every time she saw him, she felt she had to be careful. In this heat, wanting to wear a tank top felt impossible around him.
Lynn still didn’t really know what kind of person Lucas was and didn’t fully trust him yet.
She stole a glance at him.
Lucas’ physique was far better than any male model she’d seen on her phone. But that was not something she should be staring at.

The top half of his neck was tanned, while the lower half was pale. The distinct tan line on his arms
still visible.
Lynn couldn’t understand why a rich guy like him, with a family business to inherit, would choose to do such dirty, exhausting work and get himself so sunburned in the process.
She noticed a large waterproof bandage on Lucas’ abdomen-right next to his defined abs.
His strong arms flexed subtly as he held the roast meat, hinting at restrained power. Even the veins on the back of his hands seemed charged with a raw, masculine energy.
Lynn looked away, her cheeks warming.
I must be drunk.
“Are you hurt?” she asked.
“Yeah. Got any good medicine, Ms. Murphy?” Lucas glanced at her.
Her pink toes, painted a light red, peeked out from under the blanket.
Noticing his gaze, Lynn subtly tucked her feet back, hiding them.
Does this guy have some kind of fetish?
Lucas took another bite, swallowing past a dry throat.
“Haven’t you eaten?” Lynn changed the subject.
“No.” Lucas frowned, about to bring that up.
He’d called the housekeeper to ask for an extra portion, but she told him she was on vacation-a long one, approved by Lynn.
So he hadn’t eaten tonight.
He’d considered going to Damian’s, but he was covered in dust and injured. He didn’t want takeout either, thinking he’d just cook something quick after his shower. He hadn’t expected Lynn to come back with food -quite a lot of it.
“Taking and eating all that… did you pay for it?” Lucas teased.
“Isabelle isn’t that petty. She wouldn’t charge me,” Lynn mumbled. “You have a wound. You shouldn’t be eating this. Should I order something for you?”
“No.” Lucas shook his head.
Waiting for her to order takeout would take longer than me making something myself.
“That injury…” Lynn couldn’t help asking.

Lucas was sitting here calmly, and he’d used a waterproof bandage to shower. The wound must have already been treated.
He said. “An accident. Got a few stitches. It’s nothing serious.”
“A few stitches?” Lynn’s heart tightened. She took the roast meat from his hand. “You really shouldre this. Let me make you something else.”
She started to get up.
The blanket slid off her, revealing her legs right in front of Lucas-legs that looked soft enough to leave mark if touched.
He looked up at her, his gaze drifting over her chest unintentionally.
Lynn quickly covered her chest, bent down to grab the blanket, and wrapped it around herself.
“Could you please…” Lynn didn’t know what to say.
Not be so blatant…
She reached out, placed her hand on Lucas’ cheek, and gently turned his face away.
Heat spread across Lucas’ face.
Lynn’s hand was so soft against his skin, the touch light and itching.
