Daisy seemed to roll over in bed. The sound of rustling sheets came through the phone “Look, I wanted you to stay with me, too But Lucas is so overbearing. He literally took you from me.”
Lynn, who had just squeezed toothpaste onto her brush, paused. “Lucas brought me back?”
“Who else? I know him, but not well enough to know his home address.” Daisy sounded fully awake now, her tone turning cunous. “So… he didn’t try anything last night?”
“Try what?” Lynn started brushing her teeth.
“You know. The deed. Do I have to spell it out? He was so possessive, snatching you away like that. You really think he didn’t have any ideas? The look he gave me could kill,” she stated it bluntly.
Lynn spat out the toothpaste, remembering the time Lucas kissed her when she was drunk.
Last night I was really out of it. Did he do something he shouldn’t have?
She tooked at herself in the mirror. Her clothes had been changed from head to toe. Her bra was gone. Her makeup had been completely removed.
“Are you even listening?” Daisy checked her phone, confirming the call was still connected.
“I’m here,” Lynn replied, trying to sound calm. She finished washing up quickly, then checked herself over thoroughly.
No marks. No soreness. Probably… probably nothing.
Maybe he just kissed me?
Lynn patted her cheeks with her hands.
Please tell me he didn’t change my clothes.
“Lucas is a good guy, you know,” Daisy said.
“You think so, too?” Lynn’s question was skeptical, not an agreement.

Daisy let out a knowing chuckle over the phone. “Isn’t he? He took off your makeup for you. Seriously, in our circle, Damian and Lucas have the best reputations. Damian’s isn’t even as good as his–Damian’s too cold. The others are all playboys, sowing thei wild oats everywhere. Finding a decent man these days is’really hard.”
Lynn fell silent.
Daisy kept chattering. “Don’t be too picky. Otherwise, you’ll miss your turn completely.”
What a way to put it.
Lynn flopped onto the bed, burying her head under a pillow.
She couldn’t picture a guy like Lucas carefully wiping makeup off her face with a cotton pad.
Her face felt fine, though. She had to give him credit for cleaning it properly.

Chapter 422 Hand–Washed My Bra
Fragments from last night in the car suddenly flasried in her mind. Lucas frad said, “Is this where you want to touch?”
They were broken pieces but she could piece them together.
“So embarrassing…” she groaned into the pillow.
But Lucas‘ chest… so nice. Firm but yielding. Just like in the dream. Really nice to touch
She felt ashamed of her own thoughts.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door.
Lynn’s heart jumped in sync.
She hurried to open it.
“You’re up. Why aren’t you downstairs?” Lucas clearly sounded annoyed. “Do I have to come up here to get you?”
Why is he so grumpy?
Any positive feelings Lynn had for Lucas evaporated the moment she opened the door.
Lucas glanced at her and was about to leave when he added, “Your clothes are in the washer. Mine too. Go hang them up.”
Hang his clothes up?
Did he wash our laundry together?
Before Lynn could ask, Lucas was already heading downstairs, muttering, “I hand–washed the delicate stuff. Don’t worry.”
Lynn stood frozen in the doorway. Her heart began to race wildly, pounding against her ribs.
He definitely changed my clothes. And he washed them. Even if it was just convenient… this feels weird.
He hand–washed my bra.
Lucas seemed exactly like the type to take advantage. He was totally capable of this.
Lynn pressed her hands over her chest, quietly closed the door, and leaned her forehead against it, too embarrassed to face anyone.
She touched her lips. They felt slightly numb.
Her brain short–circuited.
Downstairs, Lucas wore a faint smile.
Standing in her morning daze, she looked utterly adorable.

“Not even a thank you?” !ucas didn’t turn his head, but his eyes lifted to look at her.
Lynn didn’t know what to say.
Do I owe him thanks? After everything he did… he was probably just looking out for his own
