Chapter 442 You’re Getting Bolder
She had just asked a simple question, a small gesture to thank Anthony for his help the other day.
“It’s not like I’m trying to eat him alive,” Daisy pouted.
Damian fell silent. Daisy had a point.
“So, why don’t you take charge of inviting him out? Get him to socialize a bit?” he said.
Daisy quickly waved her hands. “No, thank you, Mr. Cross. I’d like to live a few more years.”
Her top priority was making money and securing her future. She didn’t need a man derailing that.
She figured Anthony probably had some deep–rooted issues, similar to Damian back in the day.
When she first saw Damian, he was barely hanging on–not eating, not drinking, not sleeping, avoiding people, not speaking, like a living ghost.
Anyone near him risked getting yelled at or having something thrown at them.
But that wasn’t the scariest part. Damian would explode with anger. Anthony didn’t.
He was just… silent.
Aside from going out at night for a drink or working late, he just existed.
Damian frowned.
Anthony probably won’t change because of a few words.
Besides Aurora, their little group seemed to be his only connection.
“Alright, Dami, stop overthinking it. Let’s eat,” Isabelle said with a soft laugh.
The name “Dami” rolled off her tongue and landed in his ears. His throat moved slightly.
Somehow, coming from her, it sounded incredibly enticing.
He subtly tugged at his tie and loosened it.
After lunch, they got in the car to head to Christian’s.
“I’d like to go home and shower first,” Isabelle said. She didn’t smell great.
Lately, even the breeze was warm. Stepping outside without air conditioning made you sweat instantly.
Isabelle felt uncomfortable, sticky from a morning of work.
“Alright.” Damian had Bruce drive them back to the estate.
Damian seemed busy, opening emails and checking documents on his laptop.

eftesat beside him, studying him carefully.
“What?” he asked.
Isabelle smiled and shook her head, “Nothing.”
“What does ‘nothing‘ mean?” He stopped working and looked at her.
Her smile widened. She cleared her throat and looked at him playfully. “Dami”
Damian’s expression froze for a second.
Isabelle laughed even more freely.
Bruce quickly raised the privacy partition.
“Dami, you’re not mad?” Isabelle asked teasingly.
“You’re getting bolder,” he said, his voice a bit rough.
“Why don’t you let anyone else call you Dami?” she asked.
Damian looked at her, his gaze intense. “Call me that one more time, and I’ll tell you.”
Isabelle smiled, “Dami… Mmm…”
Damian cupped the back of her head and captured her lips, his tongue immediately seeking entry.
She shuddered, her hands clutching his shirt.
What a dog.
What kind of complex is this?

She suddenly remembered when she confronted Wendy in his office about the designs. Damian had forbidden Wendy from calling him Dami. But when Isabelle called him that, he hadn’t objected the first time.
And the second time, he’d even “warned” her in a fond tone, “You can’t call me that either.”
“I don’t like others calling me Dami. But you’re not ‘others,“” he murmured against her forehead, his gaze burning into her.
So that’s it.
A quiet warmth spread through her chest.
Aurora had called him Dami, too, but the look in his eyes then had been pure, undisguised distaste.
“Do you like it when I call you that?” Isabelle asked softly, a little shy.
“Yes.” Damian’s voice was husky. He kissed her again without another word, setting his laptop aside.
His heated breath overwhelmed her. A soft moan escaped her lips.
