“You go watch her every day, but we can’t talk about it? If anyone found out, they’d say you were stalking her–could even charge you as a creep.”
The classmates around him kept joking and laughing.
The noisy chatter almost drowned out Isabelle’s speech onstage, but Damian kept his phone steady in his hand.
He zoomed in slightly, bringing Isabelle’s image closer.
She wore a white evening gown that showed off her delicate collarbones. The silver sequins on her dress strimmered under the lights. Even though she was still growing into her body, her figure was already striking.
Then a student from some other class behind him said, “Look at her chest–you couldn’t even get one hand around it, right?”
“Damn, wanna try our luck tonight?” another said.
A wave of laughter rose from behind them.
After that, the scene somehow turned chaotic, and the video ended there.
The small group watching now fell into an awkward silence.
Isabelle’s face flushed. She really wanted to sink into the floor right now.
“I honestly didn’t notice that part…” Regina said, frowning.
Back then, Regina and Caroline were traveling abroad and enjoying themselves. Damian’s video was sent automatically once he finished recording. By the time Damian opened WhatsApp later/it was too late to recall the message.
Regina never actually played the video. She just saw Damian’s follow–up message. He texted, “Don’t send this to Caroline. I’ll share some clearer photos with you later.”
Regina got so absorbed in the high–quality photos he sent afterward that she forgot about this video–though she did save each
one.
“No wonder his father said he came home covered in bruises that day,” Regina murmured.
Damian had always been well–behaved at school and never broken rules. No one expected him to get into a fight.
Luckily, the school staff later escorted those guys away. They weren’t students–just some young men from outside who had come to the performance looking for targets.
“Thank goodness you and Damian ran into each other that night,” Caroline said, only now learning the full story. A lingering fea
washed over her.
“He… got in a fight?” Isabelle asked, surprised.
He must have fought those creeps from the video.
The fact that Isabelle was cornered in an alley after the show that night was no coincidence. And Damian showing up with his friends wasn’t a coincidence either.

He was clearly following me to keep me safe
“He did, but he never said why,” Regina said, shifting the subject with a smile. “He can breakdance, too, you know.”
“Yeah, right. Him? Breakdance?” Abigail said dismissively.
An older sister always found something to pick on with her brother. Damlat seemed to be no exception.
They launched into chatting again.
But Isabelle was distracted, her gaze drifting toward the upstairs.
I want to hug him. Right now.
“When he came back, it was the first time I ever saw Damian lose his temper,” Regina recalled.
Hearing this, Isabelle turned her attention back.
Everyone says Damian used to be such a good kid. His losing his temper must have been rare.

Regina continued, “No one knew what he was so mad about. He locked himself in his room and even threw a book. He kept muttering something about ‘being led by your heart‘ or ‘love–struck‘… Probably, even back then, Damian already had feelings for Isabelle…”
Isabelle understood instantly.
A few days before the show, Damian wrote her a letter asking to meet, and then he saw what happened with Gary and Nicole.
This wasn’t about liking her–he was criticizing her.
Damian knew Isabelle hadn’t picked up on his hint. After fighting those guys at the event, then again in the alley, and finally getting her home safe, he was absolutely furious.
I never knew Damian worried about me to that extent.
Isabelle smiled. The others were still chatting away eagerly.
Abigail leaned closer to Isabelle. “You and Damian really were meant to be.”
Isabelle didn’t know what to say.
We really were. But Damian never breathed a word about any of this.

“If you two had actually met back then, you probably would’ve gotten together way sooner,” Abigail said dreamily.
Young love was the purest and most beautiful.
It was a shame his eyes were only on Ashley back then.
Everyone waited downstairs until Damian and Jonathan finally came down.
The two men were still deep in conversation as they descended, only stopping when they saw the two pregnant women still chatting on the living room sofa.
