Chapter 491 Lucas Claims His Tipsy Fiancée
“Huh? You added him and he didn’t accept?” Diana asked, intrigued.
“Nope,” Daisy replied. “A few days ago, a friend of mine asked him to help source some specialty incense. It still hasn’t shown up. Earlier, someone mentioned he often comes here to drink, but I’ve been hanging around for days and haven’t caught a glimpse.”
She continued, “Do any of you know where he lives?”
They all exchanged glances. It seemed no one actually knew his address.
Previously, he used to crash at the studio during the day, and at night he was either at the bar or at a hotel never really staying in one fixed place.
“Whatever, forget it. At least this spares me from my dad’s endless lectures about settling down. He keeps going on about how I’m not getting any younger. If I can’t even return this jacket, I’ll just tell my dad he’s my boyfriend to get him off my back.”
Lynn chuckled. “That seems like a stretch.”
Diana teased, “How can you even suggest something like that?”
Isabelle added, “That’s a bit transparent–like you’re creating drama for no reason.”
Everyone joined in, gently poking fun at her.
Daisy turned to Isabelle. “Next time you see him, you have to tell him I said that exactly. Let’s see if it makes him come find me.”
Lynn grinned mischievously. “Do you actually like him or something?”
Diana let out an intrigued “Ooh,” adding, “Sounds like there might be a story there.”
Isabelle laughed. “If Anthony ever actually runs into your dad, wouldn’t that just confirm you’re dating? You’re basically setting him up–throwing him to the wolves.”
“You’re all overthinking it,” Daisy said with an easy smile.
Bruce watched them chatting animatedly and glanced at the time on his phone,
He couldn’t believe a group could talk like this for two or three hours straight.
“Ding-”
A message from Lucas lit up Daisy’s screen. “I’m outside.”
Daisy glanced at Lynn, who was now curled up comfortably on the couch.
“Isabelle, how about I take you to my place to pick up the records now? It’s really close by,” Daisy suggested.
“Now? It’s getting late–won’t it disturb your family?”
“Not at all. They’re pretty relaxed, they won’t mind. Let’s go!” Daisy quickly took Isabelle’s hand and led her toward the door.
Diana didn’t feel like moving. “You two go ahead. I’ll wait here.”

“Okay.
Daisy and Isabelle walked out, followed by Bruce, leaving Lynn and Diana alone at the table.
“Cheers.”
The two raised their glasses and clinked them together.
Just as they set their glasses down, Diana spotted Lucas walking through the bar toward them.
She nudged Lynn with her elbow. “Hey, look–isn’t that your fiancé?”
Lynn glanced over her shoulder. The figure did look familiar.
“So what? It’s not unusual for him to be here.”
“He seems to be heading straight for us.”
Lynn picked up her glass again. “Let’s just drink. Ignore him.”
They clinked glasses once more.
Lucas walked over and sat down on the sofa beside Lynn.
Diana put her glass down and quickly slipped away. “I’m just gonna run to the restroom.”
Lynn subtly shifted over, putting a bit more distance between herself and Lucas.
She honestly hadn’t expected Lucas to come looking for her.
“Ready to go home?” Lucas asked.
“You can go ahead.”
Lucas‘ gaze rested on her lips briefly before he repeated, “Come home with me.”
Lucas took her hand, stood up steadily, and began leading her toward the exit.

“Hey!” Lynn exclaimed, hurriedly snatching her red high heels, from the floor and following him barefoot.
Lucas‘ hand was large and warm.

Whether it was because Lynn felt flustered around him or the air conditioning wasn’t strong enough, her palms grew slightly damp.
Noting that Lynn wasn’t resisting, Lucas glanced back at her.
Seeing she was barefoot, it suddenly struck him how abrupt his action had been. His own nervousness washed over him—he’d completely forgotten Lynn wasn’t wearing shoes.
Lynn pressed her lips together. The floor wasn’t exactly comfortable, but with Lucas holding her hand like this, she didn’t dare complain.
Since he’d come all this way to get her, she might as well let him save face.
