Chapter 504 A Team Outing

Isabelle smiled. He has a pom

The next morning, Damian was already gone when Isabelle was woken by laughter from downstairs.

After a quick wash, she pulled on a loose white nightgown and headed down.

The laughter got louder as she stepped into the backyard. Diana was up on a ladder, picking the last of the grapes, with Bonita, Evelyn, and Emily helping out below.

There weren’t many grapes left lately, since Damian had been picking them for her every day.

“You know, sometimes I feel like calling the cops,” Isabelle said, leaning against the doorframe with her arms crossed. “Who breaks into someone’s house and steals fruit in broad daylight while they’re sleeping?”

“You’re finally up!” Diana called out, climbing down the ladder with the final bunch in hand.

“If I’d slept any longer, there’d be nothing left to steal,” Isabelle replied.

Diana walked over to her. “Go get your stuff. We’re going on a team outing!”

Isabelle looked confused. “A team outing?”

“My dear boss, we haven’t had a break in ages. Can’t you share some of that maternity leave with us?” Bonita said as she placed the grapes in a basket and headed to the sink to wash them.

Evelyn and Emily chimed in with their agreement.

“Share my maternity leave…” Isabelle laughed.

Diana took her hand and led her back inside.

“Last night was a huge success. The last time we had this many orders was after Helena’s launch party. Beatrice was over the moon,” Diana chattered as they walked. “I landed a bunch of orders last night. All by myself! Pretty good, right?”

“Very impressive!” Isabelle said, noting Diana’s beaming face. “So that’s why we need a team outing?”

“Don’t we deserve it? I’ve been thinking about this forever. If you don’t give us a break soon, these girls are gonna burn out.”

Isabelle had nothing to say. Okay, she’s right.

She went into the walk–in closet to change, while Diana waited outside.

“So, where are we going?” Isabelle called out.

“Have you heard of Coastal District, the one near the city?” Diana asked, already scrolling on her phone. “Daisy’s company is handling the Westperch Hotel project. It’s part of the same group, right next to Coastal District. The whole area belongs to them, and it’s booked out. Daisy got the manager to set aside some complimentary stay vouchers for us. It’s a full package deal!*

Once she was changed, Isabelle came out of the closet.

She asked, “Let’s talk business first. What’s the deal with Bianca?”

Diana explained, flopping down on the sofa, “Beatrice went to the police first thing this morning with a video, but they couldn’t find anything Theard someone gave her a stack of cash to tamper with the dress.”

Diana added, “The person caught on camera was wrapped up like a mumray. No one could tell who it was, and we don’t even know who they were really targeting.”

“I think I know who it might be,” Isabelle said.

“Yeah?” Diana turned to look at her.

“Lydia. Anthony’s ex–girlfriend. She blames me for their breakup. Yesterday, she tried to bribe Damian’s assistant with a few hundred thousand dollars, trying to start some trouble between us. I guess she wanted me to know how it feels.”

Diana was shocked.

“It’s just a guess. I don’t have proof it was her,” Isabelle said, pressing her lips together.

“And Lydia now…” Diana trailed off.

Isabelle shook her head. “I don’t know. We don’t have any solid evidence against her. The money transfer to Victoria was even labeled as ‘for baby formula.“”

“Thank goodness Victoria has a good head on her shoulders, or that plan might have worked,” Diana muttered. “Talk about easy

money.”

“How long is this team outing? Are we coming back today?” Isabelle asked.

Diana shot her a look. “Could you maybe check the group chat?”

“I just woke up,” Isabelle said with an awkward laugh.

She finally noticed the “The Fab Four” group chat was blowing up with messages. Everyone was going. Daisy and Lynn had already set off. They were the only ones left.

“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” Isabelle exclaimed, jumping up to start packing.

Díana got up to help. “I thought you

knew.”

They took two cars. Bonita drove one, and Bruce drove the other.

Once in the car, Isabelle finally texted Damian to let him know and sent her location.

Isabelle sent, “Honey, I’m going on a team outing. I’ll be back in a couple of days.”
