Chapter 654 The Kiss
Chapter 654 The Kiss
Daisy’s eyes flew open.
She scrambled off Anthony, grabbed the blanket, and held it in front of herself. Her gaze darted away from him.
This wasn’t a dream.
It was dark outside.
She’d thought she was dreaming.
She was mortified.
Anthony sat up and turned on the light. The corner of his lip was slightly broken–from her clumsy kissing. His collar was disheveled.
And it wasn’t just his collar that was disheveled. His heart was too.
When he’d come in, she’d been sleeping soundly. He hadn’t turned on the light. He hadn’t expected her to pull him close and kiss him.
If they hadn’t needed to go downstairs for dinner, he might not have stopped her.
“I’ll wait for you outside.” Anthony swallowed hard and left the danger zone.
Daisy’s brow furrowed.
Oh, crap.
Anthony stood outside the door, his fingers fidgeting restlessly.
Daisy’s lips were soft. Sweet. Addictive.
The moment she’d kissed him, he’d known he didn’t stand a chance.
He touched his own lips with trembling fingers.
Not enough.
When Daisy came out, her face was damp–she’d splashed it with water. She’d changed into a more conservative set of loungewear.
Their eyes met, then slid away from each other. They walked downstairs one after the other.
They left after dinner.
Daisy couldn’t look at Anthony the whole time.
She had kissed Anthony

Daisy ate her breakfast slowly, stealing glances at him.
After breakfast, Anthony went out.

Chapter 654 The Kiss
Lynn laughed and brewed herself some herbal drinks.
Daisy stayed at the clinic all day.
Lynn was busy all day–either filling prescriptions or taking patients pulses. She seemed even busier deat when she’d worked at the military hospital.
Daisy was snacking on pistachios when Lucas walked in.
“Haven’t seen you in months. Back from the dead?” Lucas teased. His eyes lingered on her for a moment He noticed something different.
She’d gained weight.
He hadn’t seen Daisy in over two months, since just after the holidays. And Lynn hadn’t mentioned her either.
She must have eaten well over Christmas.
Come to think of it, Anthony had disappeared after drinking that one glass of wine 100.
Lucas was used to Anthony’s disappearances. But Daisy was usually the life of the party. Her silence was suspicious.
How could she stay quiet for months?
“I went off to secretly have two babies so I could shock everyone.” Daisy said, completely deadpan
Lucas laughed, “With your ex–boyfriend?”
“Yes,” Daisy said. “You guessed it.”
“So are you going to announce it on Instagram? Find some stock photos of babies?”
