Chapter 847 Social Etiquette
“Yeah,” Claudia replied with a smile.
“Next time, make sure to watch out–negotiate if you need to. Don’t let him walk away with all your cash,” Spencer advised.
Claudia chuckled…
It seemed like everyone in their crowd was pretty laid–back. Hanging out with them always felt easy and comfortable. None of them acted like the stereotypical rich folks people always gossip about.
Harvey stood nearby without saying a word, then reached up and scratched the spot where a mosquito had bitten him the night before.
Spencer glanced over. “We’ve got mosquitos in my hotel now?”
Harvey didn’t feel like getting into it. Dolores kept quiet too.
Claudia and Darren exchanged amused smiles.
The event was about to kick off.
They followed Harvey inside.
Harvey guided Claudia to a seat at the front table. Darren and Dolores took seats farther back, several rows
away.
Claudia had never attended something like this before, so she paid close attention throughout.
Harvey leaned toward her and said quietly, “Most of what they’re saying up there is just fluff. Doesn’t mean much.”
She couldn’t help but laugh softly.
“Southhall Compound has a solid reputation. They just don’t know you yet. Some of the businesses here could actually be good partners for Southhall,” Harvey explained, pouring her some iced juice.
“I’m not really the best at handling deals. Darren usually does most of the talking.”
Harvey smiled and slid the glass toward her. “You don’t have to be the one talking, but you should still know how things work. This was Graham’s legacy. It belongs to the Bowman family.”
No matter how capable Darren was, he was still an outsider. He handled everything so Claudia didn’t have to worry, but she couldn’t depend on him forever.
After sipping his drink, Harvey stood. “I’m gonna go up and say my piece of fluff now.”
Claudia watched as he straightened his collar and made his way backstage.
When he stepped up to the podium, he’d already taken off his suit jacket. He stood there in a dress shirt

From where she sat, Claudia could see how tall he was. From that angle, he carried that calm, commanding presence that naturally drew the room’s attention.
On stage, he spoke with ease, moved smoothly, and held the room with a quiet authority.
Dolores watched from the side of the stage.
This was her first time attending an event like this with Harvey too.
Harvey wore suits and dress shoes year–round–that never changed. Today was no different.
But after last night, Dolores saw him in a slightly new light.
She used to think Harvey was on the lean side. But when he’d taken his shirt off the night before, she’d seen the solid muscle underne
