Chapter 896 Blind Date Marathon
“I was exhausted, so I just came back with Zander.” Henrietta said, rubbing her temple. Then, leaning in with a conspiratorial grin, she added, “But I’ve got something even more interesting.”
She swiped through her phone and pulled up the photos Howard had sent her.
Before Harold could stop her. Henrietta had already passed the phone to Damian.
Damian set down his fork and, together with Isabelle, examined the pictures closely.
“Looks like Dolores called off her engagement with Carson about two weeks ago,” Isabelle remarked quietly. “And yesterday, I just happened to notice the Wade family throwing a wedding reception–for the same Carson. That’s pretty low.”
Henrietta took her phone back with a pout. “Why does Harvey have to be the one comforting her? Couldn’t he just send Howard? Honestly, I think Dolores and Harvey would make a great couple.”
Claudia glanced toward Harold. “Didn’t your brother come home last night?”
Harold served her another helping from the dish. “He doesn’t stay over often. When he’s busy with work, he usually stays at his place in the city.”
“He sure keeps busy,” Henrietta chimed in. “Last night at 2 a.m., I saw him online gaming–in duo mode. Dolores was also playing duo around the same time… and they wouldn’t let me join. Who knows if they were playing together.”
Damian looked up at her. “You were up gaming at 2 a.m. too?”
“Dad! Focus on the point here–we’re talking about big brother,” she replied, her tone suddenly defensive.
Frowning, Damian turned to Isabelle. “You know, we really should set him up on a few blind dates. It’s time he felt some pressure.”
Isabelle nodded in agreement.
Then Damian said to Henrietta, “Keep an eye on those two for me, will you?”
Henrietta mumbled, “What’s the budget for this surveillance operation?”
Damian sighed.
Harold cut in, “If you help move things along with Harvey, I’ll Cash App you something too.”
The idea of Harvey staying single made him uneasy.
Henrietta’s eyes lit up. “You’ve got a deal! Consider it handled.”
Claudia nudged Harold gently. “What if Harvey isn’t interested?”
“If he’s not interested, Harold replied with a light chuckle, “then he won’t just stay single–he’ll have no legs left to stand on.”
They both laughed.
Claudia was still wondering whether she should prepare something special for Harvey.
After all, for her engagement, Harvey had given a gift that felt like it spanned decades–thoughtful and deeply personal.
Harvey didn’t lack for anything, which made choosing the right gift all the more tricky.
If she picked something meaningful, it would be a kind gesture; if she chose poorly, it might even be misunderstood.
This really called for careful consideration.
After the meal. Harold said goodbye to Damian and the others and filled them in about Hector.
Before they left, Damian and Isabelle quickly put together a few gifts for them to take along.
